Dear All,

Thanks to all who have bought a TiTAN, thanks to those with one on order, enjoy them.....

What's the tally so far? I just bought mine this weekend and loaded up the film. I do wish that it could take different holders, like Fuji PA-45 and such. It's a good camera for the backpack.

My Pictorico viewfinder did work so after a trip to the hardware store I made one out of brass with about $8-$10 worth of "parts". It is detachable and works for either horizontal or vertical. I have only made 16 exposures so far and have not enlarged any but have made a few pt/pd prints that I am very pleased with. Scans with no enlargement have also looked very good.

My feeling is that pinhole photography is a technique to its own and doesn't need to be compared to capture through a lens. A very large enlargement or perspective adjustment from a LF view camera shouldn't be compared to 35mm. Doing your best within the limitations of a format should be the goal IMO.

Dear Darkprints et al,

Thanks to all for the feedback on the TiTANS, general view is that everyone seems to like them ( a lot ) and sales continue to far exceed expectations........

We continue to review whether we will produce a 10 x 8 version, as you know the prototype has been made and I will let you all know on this thread when we agree a go or no go...

Any word on if you are going to produce the accessory cones to the Titan. I will definitely be picking up the 110mm cone.

97* should be easy to guess with no viewfinder. Just hold your arms out at 90* and center yourself to the camera..

You can always make your own in an afternoon.

You get what you pay for, an extremely well made precision pin-hole camera, and it comes with film etc.

As Bob says you can make your own, but say you decidwe to use a Pacemaker Graflok back that'll be around 50% towards that total before you go further.

Equating camera prices to minimum pay becomes interesting as when I bought my first SLR in the early 1970's it was about 4x the typical staring wage.

Exchange rates don't always work in our favour and I'd guess this is the case here.

Simon, is there any demographic information about people who have bought the Titan pinhole camera? I'm just wondering if it's been mainly LF users who already have a personal infrastructure for it, or if it's been the general users of "toy" cameras.

Maybe you can start a poll, I am already a LF/ULF user, so already had the film holders.

Great to here Simon, I have greatly enjoyed using the Harman Titan, and I am queried often by passersby as to the what it is, and what I am doing. Most are curious, and really like the simplicity of the camera.

I will definitely be getting the 110mm Cone.

Thanks again for making such a fine camera.

I am picking up my Titan Pinhole today at a local retail shop. I've been in a pinhole mood lately and the 8x10 pinhole I've been using for years is a bit of a beast to take into the woods. I've done it in the past, but I think the 4x5 will be more my speed.

Can't wait!

Simon,
I've had my Titan for a month and I'm delighted with it and even devised a viewfinder that actually works pretty well. You mentioned some additional cones. It would be helpful if you could give an idea as to what the angle of view of each is. Thanks.
At the risk of tooting my own horn my portfolio is currently featured on the Ilford Community Gallery -- fine art. Here's the link for anyone who wants to visit. Thanks in advance.
