Does anybody can help .
I have seen some roll film holders for sale.
Well..
I want to know is that 9x12 camera is really possible to work practical with roll film plate holder using 9x12 format roll film or any other size!
Is it possible to find proper roll film holder and films today?
Finaly only 9x12 film in pieces from Foma is the only practical solution for using today that cameras?

As far as I know, the largest roll film that's readily available is 120. Most of the roll film holders for 9x12 cameras take 120, they just use the central 6x9 cm portion of the camera's 9x12 cm gate.

This is good news!
It is more convenient even with 6x9!
Does enybody knows if linhof 120 for 9x12 is proper, or i have to look for any old firm holder like Rada 120 one?
I know that Rada is proper for a Zeiss Donata, but i do not know about mine!
And the experiment is expensive enought!

The Linhof unit most likely fits a modern 4x5/9x12 -- same interface as a Riteway or other standard film holder, or a Graflok mount.

You need one made for a plate camera; it's edge will be thinner and its plate area smaller than a 4x5 film holder. The good new is, many of the roll film holders for plate cameras fit a wider range of cameras than the plate holders do.

I have quite a few Rollex and Rada 6x9 120 roll film backs for 9x12 camera, Rada wer owned by Plaubel, but Rollex were taken over by Linhof,, I think after WWII. Be aware there were also 620 backs.

They aren't expensive, I've never paid much for them, I don't think I have one that will fit your Zeiss. I'll look tomorrow though.

Coll, I know the Zeiss type fit. That Rada on ebay is 8 to 10 times more than one I bought NIB (new in box) 3 years ago with it's 6x6 mask as well.

The place to look is ebay.de, but you need to know the right search words. The login to any ebay portal is identical, but has to be done for each one, but your normal ID and Password.

Yes i know e-bay de.
I will try to find one in time, IF you think Rada is ok!

I just receive a Zeiss film pack holder 667/7 just for fun even i know i can not find a non expired film.
It is almost proper with just a small interference with o dremmel to the back.
Also i have to change the velvet of the camera.
There is a line to the top part, i do not know if it needs to have also down ,as it is not exist at all.
As i can seei it will take time from my first photo, but i really enjoy the way.

The truth is that starded recentry for nothing, and i bought the camera by accident with no knowlege at all,so my purchase was not so succesful.
It is a start for sure and possibly on the way i have to find another one more completed and convenient for proper use.
Lucky me the lens was working!
Finaly i will spent more to comlete it than to buy another.
Also maybe as i have understand 9x12 is not so convenient than the smaller!
The frost grass is working even the black envelope for shadow is missing!
Do you know is it was stuck on the glass or on the leather??

Coll, hardly any vintage plate camera comes fully working and directly usable from Ebay. So you always have to work on these camera's and search for matching parts, but that is - for me at least - big part of the fun ....many of these camera's have not been used for 70 years or longer; so it is quite normal if the shutter needs new lubricant, the lenses have to been cleaned, and the camera needs in some places new velvet lining - and most camera's are offered without plate holders.

It needs time ,reading and observation!
2 days now in vain im looking to find suitable velvet lining!
Also in Greece nobody can develope glass so i have to proceed with films solutions...
Also im waitng for original leather case some plates and a lighting meter.
Slowly i will find solutions.
This is the game for sure.
Big part of fun and obsesstion.

I checked, and don't have a Rollex holder that will fit your camera. On my last visit to Greece, I think Chios, 12 year sago, I spotted a very nice Gandolfi 10x8, camera with two Cooke portrait lenses, in the island's Studio/Camera shop window. I was told sheet film was no longer made, strange as I had my Yashicamat with me with fresh film, and had been shooting LF in the days before

Get some 9x12 Kodak film sheath inserts, they fit any 9x12 plate holders. 9x12 sheet film is easy to get in Europe.

Do you mean any linhof Rollex 9x12 ,or a specific one?
I can see some they mention 9x12 (back )but for different formats, not necessary for 6x9 (for 120)for that i was looking for!
Also i can see several types.
Chios is really great!
Half green half dry, but very graphical wiht the mastiha villages!

Or buy a few chemicals and a little equipment and develop your own plates. Both J. Lane and Zebra plates can be developed under safelight, in a small tray (a 125x125 mm food storage container works very well).

I'm going to briefly be "that guy" and point out that you can't have roll film constrained to the dimensions of a single image-- that's just sheet film.

I suspect what he meant is a "rada rollfilm (120) holder that fits a 9x12 camera", and I have seen a number of them, but like most film holders from this era, you have to have the exact one for your camera.

Im talking about the adaptor ,for 9x12.
Its plate has to be 9x12!
The film in use will be 120.
This is the practical easy solution, Of course with some disadvantages!

But in my opinion (is i am retro lover), i think Donald 's suggestion with glass plates is more correct and attractive for me, if i was able to do it.
If you have a camera almost 100 years old ,you have to follow the traditional way.
Unless you can buy for use any other recent film camera,with better results, or a digital one.
My first choice is the glass.
The second the 9x12 cut (sheet)film.
Anything else after, and every extra accesories, just to have it!

Indeed! This weekend, I'm hoping to get out and take some photos on 60+ year old plates with a 100+ year old falling plate camera.

Hopefully the plates will fall, not the camera.
