Rollei 400 IR film in Xtol

I have avoided gels or flexible filters due to their fragileness and short term life. I only use glass filters [today some may actually be plastic, IDNK].

I too was perplexed with his statement. Almost always he is crystal clear in his statements.

Rollei 400 IR film in Xtol

For darker filters such as Red29 or 720 I have a filter adapter [holder] that fits over the lens and can be flipped up out of the way for composing and focusing.

I agree. Repeating the same pattern of steps in the same order so that it becomes almost automatic and one will miss making the most common mistakes.

In defense of 100 (and 125) ISO film

Like you I mainly use ISO 400 films, but if I wanted a narrower depth of field I might choose an ISO 125 to 150 film.

Tripod collar mount for Hasselblad's Tele-Tessar 350, any input?

That should work. There is no reason not to engage a third party for a lens collar mount. Check to see what SKGrimes and supply.

Welcome to Photrio. I buy generic lens caps for my enlarger lenses whether or not they are mounted on the enlarger.

    Ansel Adams Film and Method

No, in my understanding from Alan Ross, he print negatives directly into prints, develops them, and tones them as designated by the family in the sizes and numbers that they direct. Some selected versions of Ansel's earlier prints may selected for photographic coping for specialized graphic...

What you do with your photos?

No everyone requires being patted on the back. I do not. Each to their own. "Inner satisfaction" mentioned by @MattKing, is the center of my photographic work. Also I show my photographs to friends and relative when they ask, which is often.

    Filmholder hasselblad

The film should not be locked in position unless the shutter and lens are cocked, but the exposure has not been taken. If the shutter and lens are cocked, both the windows in the body and the film back will be white. If the film has been exposed both the windows will be red. Does that help?

    Owens Valley Workshop/Gathering October 2023!

Ted, I am sorry that you are not up to the trip this year. Recover quickly as possible, please. I had posted earlier that the trip started the day after I returned from Europe. Next year should work out better for everyone. Steve

Rollei 400 IR film in Xtol

I have direct experience with Rollei 400 IR film, exposed at ISO 400 and developed in replenished XTOL in a Jobo processor and I have had very good success. Unfortunately I am out of the country and will not be back until 8 Ocotober, so I cannot look up the information in my notebook. When I...

Sold Widelux F8 panoramic camera full CLA'd

Me too. Now I am just so disappointed. I will point out that any WideLux camera needs to be regularly exercised even if that mean taking an unloaded camera and firing the lenses over 100 times at each of the three speed to ensure that the lucubration is evenly distributed thus preventing...

How to judge C-41 processing result

I have used the UniColor 1 liter kit in the Jobo processor many times without a problem. Judging the negative takes printing and I suggest if one finds it necessary to have a color chart in a corner of the photograph to help with the judging.

New to medium format. Help needed!

I am left handed but that does not make a difference with the Hasselblad. I hold the camera in my left hand and focus and adjust with my right hand.

Great start! I am glad you got out there. I ended up using a 4"x5" Pacemaker Speed Graphic as a view camera because of the basic body lightness and because it could be used a a hand held camera.

Portra 160 VC vs Ektar 100?

Kodak VC and UC [UltraColor] were produced for increased color saturation and yet hold the skin tone of all races in an acceptable and usual range. I use UltraColor for red rock in the Southwest US [Arizona and Utah] or when the general color is relatively flat. I used VC for generally flat...

Thinking about a 350mm lens for the Hasselblad camera...

I had the 2x but not the 2.4x and I was not really interested in a longer lens than my 250mm. I called KEH about something else and since many of their sellers know me by name, one told me that the he a had the 500 C lens for a price I would not pass up. I only had CF lenses, but with the...

At the balance point on the lens alone or the balance point of the camera and lens. I prefer the latter.
