I have some Kodak 220 film i unrolled to find out how 220 film worked. It also used what appeared to be a masking tape, also about half inch from the edge of the leader... And yes it was noticeably thick.
If i had more spare time i'd take and upload a pic here.
Have you taken apart a 220 roll?
220 backing paper is essentially the same as 120 backing paper. Only the labeling changes, and of course you need less paper since it doesn't run the full length. Even the start mark, within tolerances, can be in the same position...
Your kindness is getting legendary proportions.
D76 1+1 is 7 minutes, much more reasonable.
Massive dev chart says 14 minutes. Once again, MDC is full of 'it...
I think there's no strange reason. It's simply not profitable (or not profitable enough) for Ilford.
But for Shanghai, it seems to be. Different companies, different realities.
This has been repeated a lot. However film rolls are more than 100 year old. 120 film is almost 120 years old. It can't be THAT complex, THAT advanced. George Eastman & his people invented roll film backing paper more than 120 years ago, with technology from 1900.
During those 120 years...
So happy to read this. I currently have a 55/4 (early 80s version), 75/4.5 classic SCMT version, and the 90/2.8. The 90/2.8 was the reason i got back to the P67; it is wornderful. The others i haven't even tried yet!
I currently can't decide, for teles, between the 135/4, 150/2.8 and 200/4. Any...
I thought the dev times were printed inside the box, as in most B&W films.
I found this, maybe it can help:
https://filmphotography.eu/en/shanghai-gp3-100/
The times are a bit longish IMO for a 100 speed film, maybe this isn't a 100 speed film.
Wait, what?
When I see cameras in dumpster-like conditions (i.e. street sellers with heaps of antique stuff), the A-series (AE-1, AE-1P, etc) are some of the most likely cameras to be still working or require just service (no spares) to resurrect.
Canon did a great job with them, particularly...
Are you relying on the infinity stop? Or are you checking through the viewfinder, using the magnifier, confirming that the shots are correctly focused?
Is the focusing screen sitting fully?
Have you guys confimed the shutter is operating correctly? It is easy to test, just remove the rotating...
Yesterday I tried the P67 grip from a friend (we did a "Pentax 6x7 gang" meet). More comfortable than what I thought, well designed.
However it is big, it adds even more bulk and weight to a bulky camera. I think i'm OK with attaching a pistol grip to the bottom (i use the Nikon pistol grip)...
I have been looking for grips on eBay and didn't find this one, do you have the link? I bought one from france, from a guy that specializes in 3D printing.
Wow, we use exactly the two same systems... Interesting.
More precisely, it handles like an ill-designed 35mm SLR...
I'm open to any grip suggestion. Which lenses do you use?
There are at least three series of K1000 cameras:
- Made in Japan
- Made in HK
- Made in China (with more plastic parts)
All KX cameras were made in Japan. And, as noted, it was almost the top level camera. I owned the made-in-hk K1000 both and yes, the KX was better made.
The film market did shrink in the past and this impacted all major manufacturers, in particular Kodak and Fuji.
However, after this reduction, the demand has only gone up, and up, and up, and up, as @Henning Serger duly noted here, every year, every month.
Yes,
I see improved pricing in the store.

$119 for 10 rolls of 220. Sounds much better. And it gets free shipping since the order is over USD 100.
Much better price and competitive with the other...
This document could have been made by anyone sitting at a computer. It is written in british English so if it was an attempt to fake an official Kodak announcement, it has failed.
You are ignoring the reality of Kodak. It is Kodak the one which suffers having machinery that is suited to a scale far bigger than the current film demand. Inoviscoat has been created recently and they are focused on a smaller scale of production which should be more cost effective for today's...
Yes.
And since ORWO is planning to release color movie film. It's only a matter of time until they decide to release it on 35mm still format, without the remjet. With the current inflated pricing from Kodak and Fuji, they can become a best seller if they drop the prices a little bit.
So, is there any solid source on this? Or only KosmoFoto... who cite no solid sources?
"According to credible sources"

Reddit cites the previous URL...
Sometimes you don't have a tripod and want to capture something interesting, and thus need such a slow speed. Your kind of photography is definitely different to my kind of photography. I usually shoot at low light levels, and without a tripod. You're a landscape photographer, i'm far from...
