Sorry, but I have followed very closely the Ferrania story as it unfolded. They never said they would make a product that was better than Fuji.
And their "recipes" (if we can call a complicated product such as color film in that way) have little direct relationship with Agfa. This was...
Harman probably can do the conversion and cutting.
Btw, there's no way this film was made by two guys working quietly on a garage lab. I believe almost zero of that marketing blurb.
The announcement says:
"FuguFilm 400 is, we believe, the first completely new reversal film emulsion in nearly two decades.(...)
Let us be clear, this is not an old storage roll pulled from the fabled Fuji freezer, or expired film, this is a completely new emulsion from the ground up"
The...
I wonder how was that K25 kept. If it loses density that could be compensated by increased exposure and/or increased development. About the shift, it will have to be evaluated carefully -- Kodachrome films in general, even when fresh and exposed correctly, had non-neutral grays on certain zones...
There are some people out there selling refrigerated K14 film like K25 or K64.
Due to not having the dyes inside, this film should keep up very well in time. Even more so if it's a low speed film.
Sincerely, good luck. I understand that some (or all?) the chemicals were to be prepared by the laboratory itself (i.e. "Dwayne's") from zero. In other words, that Kodak did not give pre-packaged chemistry for the K14 process that you could simply "just mix with water" and be ready to feed it...
Yes, this is a violent forum. However, we love each other.
Foma Retropan 320 looks me like a higher speed film than 320. That is, that people are pulling this film on actual usage.
Here's where you should have stopped. Not even for a small purchase.
I'm sorry that this has happened to you and you're doing the correct thing by denouncing this scammer. Because not giving back the USD $300 is downright stealing.
LOL, benji is not alone, here comes the Canon Evangelism Strikeforce!!
The truth is, in 1971 Canon released the FD system and included the FD 55/1.2 ASPHERICAL, the first standard lens with an aspherical surface, plus a floating system. It was probably the most advanced standard lens on the...
The FM and FM2 that are being recommended here are, internally, very similar to the FE and FE2 cameras. Surprise surprise, the FE and FE2 are "mechanical" cameras too, the electronics govern the firing moment for the 2nd curtain but otherwise the mechanics are the same and thus suffer from the...
Why you don't like the ES II too much? I am on the opposite camp -- sold almost all the spotmatics and kept the ES II which it even needs a bit of fixing to end up working fully ok. The electronics are fine, it's just the "mirror stuck up" syndome, which on the ES II is even more stubborn. But i...
Quite a dramatic format shift, from half frame to medium format...
I have the Pen D, the Pen S, and the rare Pen W. Nice machines. I just handled a Pen FT today, didn't like it. I prefer the smaller scale-focusing machines.
Hi Green Tentacle,
Takumar (SMCT) 50/1.4 can still get for reasonable prices if you shop in places elsewhere than eBay/etsy. It is very plentiful.
55/1.8 is also a great lens.
I'm not sure about the 50/1.7 Takumar you mention. I recall the Pentax-M 50/1.7 and the Pentax-A. Both great lenses...
Camera tech here.
What gets stuck is the whole camera, not just the advance lever. The advance lever is a symptom. Have you checked if the problem only happens in the slow speeds (1 second to about 1/15th)? Avoid using them and try to fire the camera repeatedly with no film.
Camera most likely...
Not completely useless. You can check, for example, resulting grain structure and have a hint of how much shadow detail you will get.
But it gives more substance to the claimed figures.
