Love the mood here and the placement in the bottom middle window pane of? Grain Elevator? Well done.

    Wood Chips And Bit

New55 - Drill press and wood chips. This is the last sheet of a box of 5, looks like the same "goo spread" on all sheets, so I may have a roller problem in the holder. This one produced the first useable proof in that there was an image on the paper.

    River runs around it

A "river" of grease dripping down the side of a locomotive - past a rivet hole. I did "blow out" the highlights a little on this one - glossy black paint is sometimes difficult to meter correctly -

  13. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'When Iron gets Acne'

Again, really nice - that ORHC must have been a "target rich environment" - you could hang a very nice show with your work from there. Love it when you get in close, makes you think about what it is. Tones on the metal are just "eye candy" and the tube being bent gives a little motion to a...
  14. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Img283'

Ahh - nothing like dirty metal - detail and tones are super - love how you got the highlights on the Valve Oil and the rod next to it.
  15. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Img289'

Another great shot - really like the view looking up - tones on the metal are lovely - and that nut is there again. Makes me wish I was a lot closer to Oregon!!
  16. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Img288'

I much prefer this to the earlier post, but then I like to get in close - great tones and the detail on the nut is perfect - the star on the wheel really makes this special - keep them coming.

  18. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Img255'

Love the star on the wheel - and thanks for the compliment, I have to say that I really like your last few images where you have approached the subject at an angle rather than straight on. It makes a dramatic image of a stationary object, I think I may be "borrowing" this approach from you the...

4x5 Bergger Pancro400 cut too large for Toyo film holder?

Final follow up, I received a replacement box of film very quickly from France - it is sized correctly and fits perfectly in the Toyo holders. I would rate the customer service from Bregger as first rate from my first contact with them through the replacement. Bob

    55

New55 After a "successful experience" with the first three sheets I have run into a series 5 of failures. They are partly my fault in I misloaded one packet which bent the springs in the holder which then lead to 2 more failures before I figured out the springs were bent. "Fixing" the holder as...
  21. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'New55 and a Carnation'

I also have found it hard to insert and pull the sleeve - it seems to be thicker than actual Polaroid materials. I have yet to have a positive image that I would "keep" - but then I am really just interested in the negative.
  22. New55 and a Carnation

    New55 and a Carnation

After a few failures due to my misloading and my 545 holder's springs failing, I was able to pull this one. White carnation on a while background - not sure what is causing the mottled background. I still find this an interesting film, but my "success" on the first few sheets has been balanced.

  26. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Catch & Release'

Speaks to me as very 1930's industrial where function combines with design - that hand rail is amazing and matches the hand wheel. Well done. - Bob
  27. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Touch Screen'

So many knobs - a real feast for my eyes - I like the warm tone on this one. I think the selective focus brings an order to the maze of pipes, adds to our human ability to control big machines. Bob
  28. Comment by 'rmann' in media 'Img178'

You nailed this one - I love old metal and you have really great tones on this one - hand held, too! Bob

    Bleeding Hearts on New55 Film

Third sheet of New55 Positive Negative - grabbed a branch of bleeding hearts from the garden. Negative is dense, but scans well - positive was very light. New55 suggests a 2 minute development, but by the time I got it separated it was closer to 3 minutes. I will have to work on working faster.
