    Group Commission Project: Pixelation

APUG friends, I have been gathering my thoughts for a conceptual series on the subject of "Pixelation." This includes a few image ideas that I continue to refine. In the current context, I believe that this is a very interesting topic to pursue, but I have concluded that I'd really like...

Clive there is a thread where this and related topics were discussed ad nauseum, but I'd rather not rekindle that thread because it contained some unpleasant back-and-forth before it was resolved. The end result was an agreement by some of our nicest and most reasonable members to help put it...

Anybody know how the results differ for developer-incorporated papers versus others? RC vs. fiber? I only work with matte fiber...

Kodak Axes Digicams, but keeps film

...meanwhile, I am trying to figure out how to make a film back for my blackberry smartphone... Indeed, megapixelitis, which helped Canon and Nikon and others convince people to buy the next best thing every year or so, is now their worst nightmare. As I and many many others predicted, they're...

    What do you say?

+1 This isn't a question of right or wrong, good or evil, etc. It's about using the medium that helps you do what you want to do.

....and don't forget, since 2000, the cost of using some really spectacular film gear has come down too. As long as apuggers and our colleagues do their part and show great work and present their positive side online, newcomers' interest in the equipment, the media, and the analogue processes...

    Richard's First Nude

Initially apprehensive about his first experience photographing the nude, Richard became more relaxed and comfortable after the model fell asleep on the floor.

I thought we had good momentum there for a while but then some people became very busy... it is going to happen. Oh Sean... ;) ~~~ On a related topic, I am thinking of (separately) commissioning contributions from members for a study on a particular topic, which could then result in a book...

    Sense of Presence

In the case of portraits, I think it is connection photographer-to-subject, which makes possible a real subject-to-viewer connection. In that case, the subject has presence in the eyes of the person who views the print. That connection is entirely separate from all the technical stuff... it...

Comment by 'keithwms' in media 'Crisis Europe'

Interesting. I was just saying to a friend, I don't understand where the art is. All this political upheaval and turmoil... where's the reflection of that in art. Let's have more photography relevant to what's happening now!

    What do you say?

Well for me film is certainly not about brandwanking :whistling: Quite the opposite. Anyway... I've never once heard anybody imply to me that film is pointless, or say why don't you just use a 16 megapixel whatever (actually I do, and it makes a nice colour meter). The usual question is: wow...

Yeah I don't see how cafes survive at all, they have to be hawking something on the side. I have the solution. LPQ could very easily become a fairly high-end restaurant at meal time. That'd bring in big bucks. When your avg per person expenditure goes from $5 to $30 at peak meal times...
