Well, the FTn(and related models) have most things one needs in an SLR camera. And they're quality made.
I did not like the shutter dial placement, and I didn't like the slow-acting meter, however two or three of my most favorite pictures were taken with a black FT2... So I remember the...
I received a fixed-lens Fuji 6x9, a GSW690 if i recall correctly, for some maintenance work. I had the option to buy it, since the owner wanted to sell it after service.
I did not like the internals, i expected better quality from something that says "Professional" on the outside.
The...

I agree, this is what I don't like from the FE. When you fit a motor drive, then you don't need to do that anymore, which is a blessing. This is what annoys me from the FE, otherwise it's a great machine.
The Spotmatic has a self-timer and depth of field preview lever, which the K1000 lacks.
The Spomatic can be turned off at will, something that is not possible on the K1000 unless one puts the whole camera in a bag or somewhere dark.
The Spotmatic is a better built camera.
Olympus OM-1: Shutter speed control in the wrong place, flimsy film advance mechanics, gimmicky screen that is too big to be useful. And the worst part is the owners -- they're part of a horrible Koolaid-drinking club that thinks this is the ultimate camera system.
Olympus Pen F (pictured):

What a conversation, guys...
I wonder if the OP is still around.
It's obvious that a Hasselblad 500C is a lighter camera, and if lightness and nimbleness is the most important factor, it's the best option. (Cue @Sirius Glass singing "Amen!" in four different font sizes)
If you are going to...
It depends on the brand of the cell. Some of them have enough long life ("enough" for me is 1 to 3 months, sometimes even more.)
They are really cheap (here, cheaper than silver cells), easy to find, and come in packages of 6, 8, 12 cells.
Thus, for me they're a great solution.
This arrangement is temperature sensitive and load sensitive(*). Thus, i prefer using a zinc-air cell, which is really stable.
(*) This was already researched exemplarily on a PDF that is around the 'net.
I disagree. Pentax has an excellent exposure compensation dial. MUCH better than the one in the Nikons (FE2, FE, F3) and the Canons (A-1, F-1N) in the sense that it can be turned by hand and set by "feel" without removing your eye from the finder.
It is really easy to apply +1, +2 (or -1, -2)...
I would suggest you to stay with the ME. The ME is better built than the ME super; it has an actual metal top plate (plastic on the ME super) and overall it feels nicer finished. It also has a more beautiful, clean top plate.
The 1/2000 speed... you don't really need it. And even then, the ME...
You asked for 1.35v "silver oxide" or "lithium" batteries. They can't be done because it would be going against chemistry...
The voltage of the cells is a consequence of the kind of cell itself, that is, the substance used for electrolyte, and electrodes.
See: "Cell potential"
Silver cell...
Like... which ones?
The Pentax 6x7. world's first 6x7 SLR with electronic shutter and TTL metering plus (at the time) the most extensive lens system for a 6x7 SLR?
The Electro-Spotmatic, first SLR with electronic auto exposure?
The Pentax ME-F,, first autofocus SLR?
The first series of fully...
The NT backs are reported to be much more problematic, reliability-wise.
As for the P6 mount, yes it's good if you have Pentacon Six lenses, but there are very good lenses on the regular Salyut/K88 mount, use a Vega 90/2.8 or an Arsat 80/2.8 and you won't miss the Biometar too much.
It does have coating at all surfaces. Single-coated Tessar lenses are supposed to be contrasty. There are only three optical groups there (!)
Something must be wrong with your lens or camera. For example, a plethora of tiny micro-scratches at the front surface can wipe off contrast. Same with...
Looking at the size of that 200, i don't think the wide open performance at the corners would be as good as a real 6x6 200/4mm lens.
I have a 200/4.5 lens for the Bronica ETR system (6x4.5 format, smaller than 6x6). This is a lens for a smaller format and slower, yet it's bigger than the 200/4...
Pentax (Ricoh) posted a video yesterday:
The mechanism shown on the video is the film advance lever, counter, and bottom mechanism found in the Pentax P30. Moreover the rewind knob is exactly as in the P30/P50 models.
This means the forthcoming camera will use a vertical shutter, just like...
69 is a naughty number.
I'm a happy 6x4.5 user (SEE MY AVATAR...) but still I like 6x7. I agree with your opinion on 6x4.5.
For me 6x7 is a more manageable alternative to 4x5; while 6x4.5 is a better quality alternative to 35mm.
Congratulations! The camera won't operate properly without film. The film, when moving, moves the sprockets which then liberate the shutter release.
Probably your lens needs cleaning.
Most likely the rangeifinder. Every time you disassemble the lens (for cleaning), the rangefinder-lens...
