...volume distributor in the world of Kodak still film. They had been producing most of the Kodak branded colour photochemistry for KodakAlaris for some time. They had also recently purchased from KodakAlaris the entire Kodak branded photochemistry, colour photographic paper and lab support...
That might very well be. And is an interesting story if true.
But I don’t think I speak for me only when I think: “What is your real gripe here?”.
Don’t you believe in irradiation damage to film?
What are you trying to say?
The amount of watts radiated onto the material in the form of high...
...who is actually Kodak Professional Solutions, who is actually Sino Promise, a Chinese distributor who imports and distributes KodakAlaris, Canon, Epson, Noritsu, Summa, JHF, Minolta and other products. Sino Promise Group is the largest agent of the US company, KodakAlaris, in the Greater...
I happened to drive right past Kodak-Alaris HQ last weekend, which gives an idea where in the world I live. My local camera shop cannot get hold of enough C41 film. They also process film and some days are flat out with demand for processing C41. I've spoken with other shop owners and the same...
Greg, you misunderstood me. I'm not doubting this. It's been discussed at length. I just wish I could see examples of what the scanner actually does to the film.
...have the film processed before leaving.... guaranteeing their work.
If you haven't seen it (it's old news) here's the announcement from KodakAlaris...
...develop a single roll of film (in a 1+3 dilution).
And as 1 + 3 is not a dilution recommended by the manufacturer - so Eastman Kodak and KodakAlaris wouldn't have been likely to research the question in the past, and Sino Promise wouldn't be likely to research it now.
If someone wants to...
...of everything they buy, plus they are still seeing disruptions and increased costs in relation to getting constituent components to them. The same would probably apply to KodakAlaris' part in the process of getting film to customers.
Of course, 40% at the top doesn't mean 40% for every product.
I'm pretty sure you'll be okay. If it were in an open tray it might be a different story, but in a smaller beaker with less developer surface exposed to air you should be fine.
I was all set to pour the developer into the Paterson tank. I had mixed up 1 Litre of D76 working solution at 1:3 but I got interrupted. That was 48 hours ago. The developer has been sitting in a full 1 Litre bottle for 48 hours in a pretty cool room. Is it still good? I can't seem to figure it...
...without issue - but only from well recognized retail sources.
I've also received replacement films shipped commercially from the US by KodakAlaris - again without incident.
And I've privately sold a bunch of film here to a fairly large number of purchasers - both inside and outside Canada...
...These are scans of the negatives. The one of the Kodak plant is down a hill from me, way zoomed in so does not look so great. I'm not sure if anything goes on there anymore, but I believe it was in production in the early 90s when I first moved to Colorado. Says KodakAlaris now when I drive by.
Yes, the old saying, "squeaky wheel gets the oil" should apply here. I really don't care who's fault it is, just fix it. Maybe they could add a small amount of anti-fungicide to the paper backing? Sure seems long enough time has passed where the problem should have been corrected by now. Of...
New bottle of hc-110 I received today looks exactly like the older version by KodakAlaris. Same catalogue number, same barcode, same "made in Germany" statement. The major difference is Sinopromise name instead of Kodak.
I dried up a bottle of hc-110 syrup by KodakAlaris, bought in 2020.
The new one I got today is by Sinopromise, and the major change on sticker is company name. It still satates "made in Germany for ...". Even barcode stays the same.
...3200 plots are for the older, now discontinued emulsions (TMY and TMZ), even though these plots come from current PDFs downloaded from KodakAlaris. It's not a big deal. Kodak's technical literature is generally excellent.
KODAK PROFESSIONAL TRI-X 400:
KODAK PROFESSIONAL T-MAX 400 (TMY and...
Unless my memory is dodgy, it was Henning who stated that Kodak's profit margin on each roll of 35mm film is 2%
It was in response to the frequent assumptions that they're making massive profits from film. When in fact they're selling film at very low profit margins to try and keep prices down...
He could? I’d be very surprised. For all his knowledge and insider connections, even if he did know he’d be under an NDA.
Yeah, retail profit margin. But do you know the Big Yellow Father, the Great Green Mother or the B&W Kings margins? I’d be surprised and curious.
There are? Fuji made the...
Unfortunately, I don't use Facebook or Instagram. Is there a link you could provide that would allow me to see one of the videos without joining?
Regarding Andy Church at Kodak-Alaris, did he mention anything about hiring 300 additional workers to expand production? The news of this was...
I believe that film is competitively priced. There are so many competitors to Kodak and Alaris, that they would be foolish to play games. Also, Portra and Tri-x are admired the world over because they are quality films and have characteristics that film photographers seek. So that will...
I've made a selection available for public view @angusgulliver on Instagram
Also @thebearclub_grrr share some of mine
I post more on facebook but only accept friends requests from people I've had some level of communication with. However my current club photo album is public and you could find...
...Kodak outsourced "for sale to the public" photo-chemical manufacturing for many years prior to the bankruptcy. After that, it was KodakAlaris who outsourced "for sale to the public" photo-chemical manufacturing, until the recent sale of that part of their business to Sino Promise, who are...
Sinopromise was only ever converting and packaging paper produced by carestream, on behalf of Kodakalaris. Whats changed is that they now own the rights to kodak branded photo paper themselves and have to provide the working capital to fund its production. Provided theyve agreed terms with...
...indeed a little but different, slighly clearer and more fluid. I use same dev times than before, felt no noticeable difference.
btw, KodakAlaris has no business in this. The company is SinoPromise as it says on the label "Made in Germany for SinoPromise, Hong-Kong", which made me smile...
...push it one stop could be a good idea (or not).
To make things even more interesting, my Dektol bag belongs to the "chocolate" edition. KodakAlaris said the product is ok and it works as usual, but looks really nasty. Keeping the faith in the big "K" I continued the experiment but filtering...
...can attest to this, full classes and so on.
Perhaps most importantly of all, I was fortunate enough to have a chat with Andy Church of KodakAlaris a few months ago who just confirmed that C41 sales have exploded in recent years, catching everyone in the industry by surprised. The increase...
...the same, but it doesn't look the same, and makes developing by inspection problematic.
The problem was fixed for future batches, and KodakAlaris then Sino Promise replaced problematic bags - including some for me - but then Covid happened and Sino Promise was and may still be having real...
As indicated earlier, this Amazon listing is for a product that has no connection with Eastman Kodak or KodakAlaris, other than the fact that the Kodak name has been licensed. It appears to be the same or similar to the same iten, sold by others under a different name.
It has exactly the...
I had a look at the instructions for both D76 and ID11. The KodakAlaris instructions were dated December 2017 and called J-78. The Ilford/Harman instructions were dated June 2010. The Harman one gave mixing instructions and said the mixture could be used immediately while Kodak didn't mention...
