Example of something I almost like except for those pesky branches in the foreground left.

Wait, that’s not a cypress…. FWIW, saw this on FB earlier…definitely a nice DOF that evokes up the natural softness of the horizon this time of year. It might also be a good occasion to pick up the big hammer in terms of toners—I could definitely see taking a VDB or albumen toward the blue/violet end of the spectrum.

Really enchanting tonality there. I've never given much thought to trying ortho film, much less with a green filter. I love the way the water looks and the glow of the leaves in the background.

Thanks. I've been into ortho film lately. I read about vegetation being a good subject for ortho film, and the green filter lightens leaves. It can give an almost infrared look.

I've been trying to shoot a lot of it recently since the plants are already starting to dry out.

From a recent camping trip.

I can't resist...
You know your camping trip has gone wrong when you open the tent fly and you see this surrounding the tent....
Great photo though.

Haha! It’s the best way to channel my inner Clyde Butcher 😂

Here is one infrared, 25a red filter, Mamiya Universal Press camera. HC-110. Never printed just negative scan.

I’ve had very little photo time this year, but I made it out into the woods with a Wirgin Stereo last month. This isn’t a very interesting image by itself, but when viewed in stereo, there are a lot of layers. Parallel-view stereo pair (HP5+ in PC-TEA at box speed, negative scan).

I was really nicely surprised by the highlights in your image, so I had to look up the lens(es!). They appear to be Steinheil München Cassar 35mm f3.5 of triplet design. Lovely effect.

Thanks! Yes, the lenses are Cassars, and they’re not perfectly aligned on this camera; when one side is right In focus the other is slightly off, but in typical use (this shot was at f/11) the dof hides the issue.

I love good IR photos, so surreal and beautiful at the same time!

You inspired me to dig up a couple of mine. These are digital, I've been waiting for months on an order of 4x5 Rollei IR to go back and re-take some on film. There are a few more on an album I just uploaded to Flickr too.

Edit: also added a normal color view of another scene from the same area
