    Medium format stereo

Back in my photo above is the one from Rollei for the Heidoscop according to Claus Prochnow’s RolleI Report 1, available from 1929 to 1938.

Henri Peyre‘s page on the Heidescop is now offline, but continues on way back. He provides helpful info that applies to other cameras. While it is in French, you can drop it in Google translate, https://web.archive.org/web/20190301122310/http://www.photo-stereo.com/heidoscop-6x13.html I agree...

    Brooks Veriwide 100, stuck shutter

Found a Brooks also with shutter problem. Camera Meister Hamburg fixed it and I am now using the camera in Berlin. It works fine in 39c weather, better than I do.

Zeiss 75mm 3.8, too dirty to use?

Thanks for the advice and comments. Last year I used a Heidoscop stereo camera for shots of statues around cathedral doors in Paris and Chartres, with two 4.5 75mm lenses and was surprised by the sharpness. Viewing these slides is almost like being there. But I only viewed these slides through...

Zeiss 75mm 3.8, too dirty to use?

Thank you so much! It came off! Now I feel much better about using it. Apparently this lens needs a 24mm push on hood. Does anyone makeshift something for this purpose?

Zeiss 75mm 3.8, too dirty to use?

What are people's experience with old lenses like the Zeiss 75mm 3.8 with white marks such as these? These marks look worse at certain angles and seem to be inside the lens. They also appear to stand in relation to the aperture blades. The lens is on an Original Rolleiflex K1 614 that...

What is the oldest functional camera you have?

Wiltw, which lens do you have on your Bergheil? Looks like the third model according to Prochnow's Voigtlander Report 3 that began in 1928. He notes that the letter at the beginning of the number on the inside of the door/Laufboden (that swings down) indicates the year, - for 1928, A for 1929...

Recommendation On A MF Folding Rangefinder

If you go to German language areas in Europe, especially culture type places, a Rolleiflex often draws wonderful subtle attention. And if you are in a place for a week, the DM drugstores only charge around 3 Euros to develop slide film!

Interview with Impossible Project CEO on BBC

It is a wonderful magazine, even for one without German, for the photos and often understanding charts and presentation of research. But with German, Henning Serger's continuing series on the relation between equipment and results is inspirational. He talks in the first installment on why more...

    Voigtlander Bergheil: What lens?

The Focar WW31 is for the Heliar 12cm 4.5 according to the catalog. It widens the 12cm to 10cm. There is one on the bay for under 15$

Forums or Blogs for discussion of early CDV and or Cabinet photos and albums?

Are there any sites where people discuss 19th century photos? I see US Civil War sites that discuss Civil War photos, but no forums or places where individuals discuss specific photos or issues related to photos. Are there blogs that do this or forums? My interest also relates to CDV albums...

    Lifting drop bed for shots?

A discussion and photo appears in the Voigtlander 1928 catalog of raising the drop bed for architecture shots. Is there a name for this in English? Since these cameras have knobs to raise or lower the lens for shift, when would a person want to raise the drop bed? How is this different from...

    Voigtlander Bergheil: What lens?

Depending on the lens you could add a Weitwinkel Focar lens to get a little more of a wide angle. Which lens do you have? I am also interested in these mounts!

Bellows on Rollei SL66 only opening part way

Thank you so much Jim and John. I am in the US. Otherwise the exterior is in wonderful condition. Have been thinking I need repair or to send back. From what you both say I am now leaning towards sending back. John
