During a long wait while my wife took care of some important business, I wandered off to Beacon, and to my favorite place there...the falls. I've posted a number of 'graphs from this spot. Here's another. The water level, light, season, and mood of this place is forever in flux. I'll shoot many more from here over time I think.
Thank you all very much for your enthusiastic response to this. For those who are curious, the shutter speed was about 1/8" I think. The water, though, was very much as you see it here. Shutter speed wasn't a very big factor in that it was eerily calm before taking the plunge over the falls, and just the right depth to appear this way (the "dimples" were amazing). I have 3 or 4 photos of this spot in my gallery in a different season, and different water level which have their own unique qualities a bit different from this one.
I spent yesterday afternoon printing this. The result is a bit warmer (MGIV FB) as I used PQ Universal developer, and a little less contrasty (f11 for 20" @ G 2.5 with 2" burns of the top, RHS, and bottom, and then 1/2" @ G 5). Nothing was cropped. The print is 10x10.
