Paul, I'm personally don't know too much about Focomat IIC's, but a friend of mine is very knowledgeable about them, and I would be happy to relay any of your questions to him and let you know what he has to say. Ask away!

Hi guys, M3 DS, M2, M6 Classic and a bunch of lenses. When you go Leica, you don't come back...
What do you want to know about the IIC Paul ? This is the Rolls Royce of the Focomat enlargers. Twin lens set up, 24x36 to 6x9, sturdy build like a Durst but with the german delicatessen thing... Automatic mechanical focus. Amazing condenser quality of light. What else ? They are hard to find now.

I only own the Voigtländer 12 mm f/5.6 lens for my M system. Don't use it very much since it is such a specialty lens. Optically it is quite good, but not nearly as beefy in construction to my Leica lenses.

"and have a 90 f/4 my friend gave me"

yea sean,
he is one of a kind. he has 3 90mm's so he gave me this one, I didn't even ask. My wife is trying to find someone for him but 50 year old women want hard bodies and young looks. Not someone with money and a great perosnality and cares about everyone. of course he loves Dogs he's a retired Vetinarian.

Hello. I just joined the group. I shoot with a IIIc/Summitar and a IIIa/Summar. I love these cameras. They are such convenient little beasts. They really make shooting a joy. This is pretty much the least annoying camera to have on me all day long, and that is great because it has convinced me to take a camera with me many times that I otherwise would not have, and thus resulted in several great pics because I happened to have my camera. I have also been able to sneak the cameras into places where I was forced to return my SLRs to the car. I got the IIIa just for the Summar. This is a desert island lens for sure.

Hello Leica lovers, I am happy to join your group. I am the proud owner of a Leica M6 .85 TTL with a 35mm f1.4 aspheric lens and a 50mm f2.8 collapsible. I also have a Voigtlander 40mm Nokton f1.4 in Leica bayonet mount but I've used that one on the Voigtlander Bessa R3M body I bought a few months ago. Like everyone else here I love my Leica for its simplicity, size and workmanship but most of all for the incredible images it produces on any kind of film.

Hello guys. I am about to do a documentary on old and new chruches in scandinavia. Which lens is best for highlights and sharpness at full aperture - which is max. 2.0? Are there any reasonably priced used lenses that would suit 100 ASA slides for documentary in low-light conditions. Do anyone know of any good films, where contrast and resolution are at their best? Pics much match those from Hasselblad showing the room, while the documentary shows the life of the people there...Can any Leica do that? Kind regards, Claus

Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of (moderate) wealth and (I hope) taste. I been a Leicaphile for a long, long year, bought many an M, sold and chased. I was there when M's were born, when film was king, when the greats were great. Pleased to meet you, won't you let me stay?

Thanks HuubL. This forum doesn't get much use, it looks like. I have been contemplating a change of camera bodies lately. This is a result of recently getting involved with an Epson R-D1. I like the rd1 and got used to using my leica lenses on it, it has aperture priority AE and is much faster than setting the shutter and aperture on my M6. I got so used to this that I've started to use the M6 in AE mode and it doesn't have an AE mode, hence wasted film until I realize that it's not thinking for me. So my question is this, is it silly to go from a high quality, great handling camera body like my 1984 first batch M6 for a body such as a Bessa R3A or the more expensive Zeiss Ikon, has anyone here done this for the reasons stated, will I be sorry? Thanks, Bob.

Been so busy I haven't had a chance to visit the group much. I'm just starting to get the first prints from my R8 and all I can say is this camera with the 35-70f4 DELIVERS on the street photo. I couldn't be more happy with it. I should have 3-4 new scans in the gallery in a few days

Hi Folks,
Just picked up a very sweet R4s-p with a 50mm f/2 and 90 mm f/2. No manual though, but I found an R4 copy online. I have a couple of questions. It seems the R4S has the two "A" settings and the "M" setting, but no "P". Is that correct?l Also, I have the motor drive. Does it just fit onto the bottom of the body as is, or does the bottom plate of the camera have to be removed? Cheers all!

I became interested in rangefinders fairly recently after finding it difficult to shoot casually with a fairly large 35mm SLR. I picked up a 2nd hand Leica M6 0.72 on the weekend and a brand new CV 35mm/1.4 Nokton to go with it. The newer Leica lenses are way too expensive for me at the moment but if anyone has any good suggestions for a lens 28mm or wider then I am all ears. I shoot mostly black and white in 35mm these days and I develop and print too.

The Voigtlander 28mm f/3.5 Color-Skopar and f/2 Ultron are both VERY nice lenses and well priced. You could not go wrong with either one.

I've been very happy with a 21mm f:4 CV Color Skopar. I like something a bit wider than 28, and the 21mm really opens things up while remaining "controllable", in the sense that you can shoot it without appearing too wide if you don't want it to.

My equipment? To shoot: M6 TTL, SUMMICRON 35 mm, LEICA ELMARIT 24 mm, MACRO-ELMAR-M 1:4/90 mm, flash SF20, Sekonic L-758D and Ilford HP5.
In the darkroom: the Leitz Focomat V35 for paper barium and RC treaty in Ilford and Amaloco chemistry. What fun!
