Prices on the new Kodak bulk rolls are not compelling. Been looking for inventory since the announcement ~two weeks ago. Finally see it on Freeline. These are as of my post date of 5/20/2026. Links to product pages for ease of checking in the future.

Film 100ft Bulk Roll 100ft Bulk Roll / 18 (Rolls Est.) Single Roll

Looks like the packaging has changed too; no more metal can in a cardboard box, but a microfilm-style box similar to what Ultrafine uses now.

I remain suspicious that 100ft rolls are still more expensive for them to finish than 18 35mm cassettes. While spooling and cutting are automated, a technician is still required to be at the machine taping and bagging, and I've got to imagine that's a slower process than the highly automated 35mm finishing process that can output millions of cassettes daily.

Us bulk rollers also have got to be an ever diminishing market; that said, I'll still keep some bulk TMY around as it's my favorite film, and being able to make mini-cassettes is appealing.

Wonder what the deal is with the price difference between 100 and 400? Maybe the market for 100 is that much smaller or something?
