I had planned since the original announcement of the project to preorder when they became available. Unfortunately, I've had some major expenses come up in the last few months, and it wouldn't be prudent to spend that much money on yet another camera right now. Hopefully in a year or so when the second production run starts...

This is the genius of releasing the camera over a year. Get feedback from the early users. Reduce the cost of correcting any defects before making a lot of cameras.

The price should come down as well.

I bet the price will go up when they realize how little profit they made from the first batch...

Anyway, 39 remaining of the first batch of 350.

I've been looking at the antique Kodak Panorams on the big auction site.

Yikes! They're selling like hotcakes.

A great book shot entirely with a Widelux is "Inside Algeria," by Michael von Graffenried (1998). He disguised his camera to resemble a pair of binoculars that he wore around is neck and shot from the chest, secretly capturing dramatic images of civil unrest.

I for one never got along with my Widelux, finding its particular distortions unacceptable although many like it just fine.
I much prefer the Xpan, which might be less expensive now than the new Widelux.

There's 12 left. We should all go in together. Get one with the initials APUG 😊

Get one to send to the mods so they all get to shoot a couple rolls throught. One gets it, shoots some rolls, sends it to the next mod. That mod shoots a couple rolls, they send it to the next mod, so fourth and so one 😂

All 350 cameras of the first batch have been sold! There's a waiting list for future production. Pretty exciting to see. I just couldn't get myself to pull the trigger. I need to sell not aquire.

I wonder if all people decided on the same initials for engraving, would that make it a non-customized product? 😇
