For sale is a very nice Rolleicord Vb from the early 1960s. This one is serial number 26348xx, making it a type 1. This one is in excellent user condition, with only minor finish loss in a few spots. Both viewing and taking lenses are clean, clear and free of haze, fungus, cleaning marks or other blemishes.
This camera was overhauled by Harry Fleenor a year ago, at which time he serviced the shutter and self timer and realigned the focus mechanism and recollimated the lenses. The cost of this service was $260 plus shipping, but the result is that the camera works flawlessly. All functions are smooth, and the shutter and self timer operate perfectly without any hesitation. Film results show that the focus of the Xenar lens is perfect, and film spacing is good. Paperwork for the CLA will be included.
The focus screen is an RB screen cut to size with a fine ground glass center spot. The screen is bright corner to corner, and the large center spot pops in and out of focus very nicely.
Included with the camera are the original leather case (fair condition, perfectly functional but with some wear on the inside surfaces on the sides), an OpTec strap, the hard-to-find shutter release extension that improves the ergonomics significantly (these typically cost $30 or so when you can find them on flea bay), and a lens cap.
Also included are the Rolleikin kit for 35mm film and the 4.5/6 kit, which allows 16 frames from a roll of 120 film.
All of this is $375 plus shipping, which in the CONUSA I will do for a flat $20. PayPal preferred, and I will cover the fees.
For the buyer, I can also offer a Rollei Bay 1 hood with non-rollei case for $25 (good condition, with no dents or significant marks) and a current Rick Oleson bright screen with large microprism center spot for an additional $50 (Rick is charging $75 for these).
