My prints are ready and will go out later today. I have to apologize to the recipient. I've been having a very difficult time printing this summer - I just can't seem to get the prints look the way I wanted. I'll blame it on the heat for a lack of a better reason. The recipient will get my best effort this time around. I hope that I'll get better for the next exchange...

Eugene.

Hey Eugene,
I received the two prints Friday, and I'm very happy with them. Those are 2 gigantic prints, one from Hood River Bridge (my favorite), very impressive, one from Butchart Gardens in color.
Thank you so much. Nothing to apologize for, by the way, you're very hard on yourself.

I finished making the print yesterday, and took down my darkroom. The last print I have made in my darkroom I have been using for 16 years.
Took a long time to make, so sorry.
I will will send it in off in 3-4 days after retouching. I am getting kicked out of my appartment since the owner wants his daughter to move in here and will be actually moving on Tuesday.
So there has been a lot of stress lately.

Package sent today so I should meet the deadline...

Missed this, and I hope you're coming through all right.
I hate moving, lots of fear associated with that for me, so I can understand...
blessings upon you and maybe the new place, wherever that is, will be good too

Well I have to report that unfortunately I'll be missing the deadline. Prints will go out in early Sept. Have not been able to get into the darkroom as often as I thought I would.

I'm also running late... My apologies! I made test print in mid July and I've been unable to finalize it...I'll try to get in the darkroom during this long WE! Hopefully the print will be on its way early next week!
Again, sorry for the lateness!

Well I need to say thanks to Nicolas, Dali, received 2 very nice prints. One very geometric, the other almost impressionistic in style, both quite fun.

Heads up Bob Slaughter (megzdad81) yours will be in the mail mañana.

I know, it is not related to BPX20 but where do we sign up for BPX21?

My print is finally on its way... Hopefully this coming Tuesday it should get to destination.

Well, I mailed 2 prints over 9 weeks ago, and privately mailed the recipient twice without acknowledgment. I have probably offended someone, but know not how. I don't know if the prints were received, thrown in the trash or whatnot. This sucks, I'm done.

Sometimes people are funny, it took me a long time to ship my prints from the BPX19 as in only last month did I send them. Well the receiver sent me a PM on LFPF but not here, I did ask that he confirm that I sent them ON HERE so that the guy in charge knew to check me off as complete, but he hasn't done so.

On top of that I've messages the "guy in charge" a few times so far with no reply, I've also not received a print from the BPX19 ether, I figured it was because they were waiting for me to send mine, but the "guy in charge" is the guy who is supposed to send me a print, who is very active here. All I want is some kind of acknowledgement and communication but it seems like it's too hard for some people to send a simple message "hey sorry I'm busy but I'll send that print out someday" or even "I hate you and I hate that you ended up being my charge and I don't want to make a print for you" would even be fine ... Or "I'm going to make you wait just as long as you made the other guy wait before sending a print" or "it takes a LONG time to clear customs from my country but it's on it's way" all of that would be fine with me. But silence when you're posting on the forum so I know you got the message is just simply rude. That's the problem with these things, no guarantee.

The first time someone sent me a print I was a little harsh on the critique and the guy obviously was really proud of it and I tore it down a bit, I feel awful about that part. So it could be worse, you could send a print and they could be a jerk about it.

To whoever sent me the BPX18 print, I'm so sorry and I like it much better now that I understand traditional darkroom printing a little more than I did then.

My print will be shipping on Saturday.

I'd like to apologize to the recipient for my lateness nothing as seemed to go right this summer.

Had a pleasant surprise in the mail this morning! An absolutely lovely print from Marco of a positively charming old stone bridge in Italy. A beautiful and quite humbling piece of work. Thank you, Marco!

Hi Tim,
I'm the culprit. I received your print about 5 weeks ago didn't reply on BPX or to your PM's I apologize for that. I have no excuse for my rude behavior, but would like to explain why. When I received your print, I was very glad and wanted to make a decent "report" about it.
However, It was right after a period of working too hard (day and night) to get my job done and was down from that moment with a severe attack of kidney stones (I hope that is the english name for it). It is very, very painful day and night and it lasted over 3 weeks before they could do something about in in the hospital. In that time I had no energy to do anything. When I started to recover my vacation started and we went abroad. After returning I had to be busy picking up the work that didn't get done during my illness and the holiday, again neglecting my duties on APUG en to you.
I kept thinking I should reply, even after you PM (twice) but couldn't make myself to do anything and kept postponing it.
It would have been very easy for me to send a very short message it had arrived safely, but even that I didn't do. I'm not even sure why to be honest.

So I apologize sincerely for my unbecoming and rude behavior. You didn't deserve that. I know it sucked since you did put great effort in making and sending the prints. So please don't quit APUG on behalf of my bad behavior.
I hope I can make it up to you in someway.
Sincerely,
Bert from Holland

Hello Stone,
I owe you an apology as well. I promised to sent you an extra print but for the same reason (which isn't even a valid reason) as I mentioned in my reply to Tim I didn't do it yet. This week I'm gonna post my assignment for BPX-20 and will post an extra print to you as well.
I apologize for my bad behavior and lack of communications as well to you too.
Sincerely,
Bert from Holland

Well,
I'm glad I'm finally getting my things back together (much overdue) and finally picking up for the unneeded mistakes I made. But that leaves me with one question for the BPX-group. My behavior and lack of communications was very bad and did hurt some people who deserved better. One expects more from the "guy in charge" as Stone called it.
So should I go on as the "guy in charge" for the upcoming BPX-21? I'm willing to do so and promise not to do this foolisness again. But on the other hand I damaged the good faith that is needed for participating in a BPX. So would it be better for me to step back and find someone else to take over?
(You can also send me a PM to tell me what you think, if you don't want to comment here in public)
Thanks,
Bert from Holland

FWIW, from someone who is considering signing up again for the BPX ...

Kidney stones are more than sufficient punishment for all sorts of bad behavior .

Glad to hear you are well again Bert.

I've not participated in the BPX, but I've had kidney stones (some large ones too). While passing stones on my own never really bothered me (just aches), the time I had an hospital take care of them certainly did bother me. The procedures, and having a stent (which you probably did), can really take a lot out of you.

I've never had kidney stones however this summer i did have an unexpected surgery and I know how much it can take out of a person. I was able to sit / lay down and surf the internet but i was unable to stand for more than a few minutes.

I hope you are recuperating well.

Not to worry, health issues come first and as I said it took me quite a few months to post my BPX19 to my charge (a charge is the person you are assigned to, an old English term) so I can't say I haven't been in the same spot, it happens, thanks for being in touch though, much appreciated. I know that you weren't the original person assigned to me, and that you took over the duty, so I'm humbled and grateful to you for taking on a task that wasn't assigned to you originally. Brave man!

Look forward to next month's mail!

Jeff,
glad you liked it!

A big thank you to Bert for being the organizer of this round!

Marco
