Perhaps one might spend a few bucks more to support a niche distributor who, in turn, is supporting a Czeck business who could use a few import dollars.

For me, the admittedly cute box isn't adding enough value to the product. If you like the box enough, then go ahead and buy. The guy seems pretty transparent about what he's selling.

As for Foma, I see no evidence that they are getting any less cash from me if I buy this rebadged product or if I buy regular Fomapan 100....which I do....on average 250 feet a year in bulk. Not a whole lot by the standards of professionals but I feel I'm doing my bit.

Same here. Reckon I use at least two 100ft rolls of Fomapan 100 per year. It isn't FP4, but it's good enough for my purposes, and is one of the few slow-medium speed films that can be pushed a stop of two. The Film Photography Podcast reviewed Kosmo (Foma) and weren't overly impressed. I think it's better than their estimation in Rodinal, though certainly grainier than most 100 ASA films.

All that said, I got some lovely results from Chinese Lucky 100 mono before production standards deteriorated.

I use Fomapan 100 as my "go to" medium speed B&W film because I get repeatable, excellent results in ID-11 stock. I rarely make very large enlargements so the fact that it is a tad more grainy than FP4+ doesn't matter.....I will use FP4+ when I want a different aesthetic, however. Fomapan has never let me down through the years (not suggesting Ilford or Kodak have either) so I always have a roll in one of my bulk loaders.
