Zorki 4 rangefinder issue

I have a Zorki 4 s/n 5844xxx that is in good working order except the rangefinder mirror arm assembly is missing the pivots so it does not work right. I've heard these parts are ball bearings but I am unable to find bearings in the right size. I don't want to have to buy a parts body unless I have no choice so does anybody know where I can find these parts?

Do you know the size of the ball bearing? If so Boca Bearing might have it.

I have no idea of the actual size. I've tried several but they are either too small and drop into the holes or are too big.

You might want to contact Oleg Khalyavin of OK Photocamera, he seems to have a good collection of parts and might be able to help you. You could even send it to him for a complete overhaul, from what I've heard he does quite good work. Barring that though, personally I'd get a parts Zorki, then you're covered for anything that might come up in the future too.

I got this one mainly because it had a J-3 body cap and the price was dirt cheap. The camera does work fine so I'd like to use it along with my Leicas so I don't need another one. I may however eventually get a Zorki I Leica II copy though..

Maybe I'm not sure what you mean. A ball bearing would have an inner diameter for the shaft and an outer diameter for the hole it goes in and then a depth or width. If you can measure the shaft and the hole the bearing fits into you can have the size bearing you need.

I have a Zorki 4 but have never dissasembled it, so I'm not familiar with the rangefinder mechanism.

I bought a package of assorted size miniature bearings at a local hobby shop. Most were too small and dropped into the unit. The others were too large and would lock the assembly once re-installed. I have measured the race with calipers and can find nothing local. I suspect this is an off size.

Try Micro Tools, they have many sizes of ball bearings.
