For a couple of reasons I ended up with way more of these bags than I will ever use. They are a very nice fit for 4X5 holders and help seal out dust and prevent static. I first got these when I was living in Colorado and having horrible dust problems. These along with rigorous cleaning made a huge difference for me. I am now getting back into 4X5 so I ordered another batch of 50 of these from http://staticbags.com. Well, I then found the leftovers from last time, so now I have a mess of these bags.

I figured I could sell them to other interested folks in smaller batches. I am selling them in batches of 10 for $5 including shipping to the US and PayPal fees. I can ship elsewhere, but there will be an additional cost, probably very small. I have 60 total to sell.

The attached photo shows a bag with a holder in it, of course the holder is not included!

I can confirm this is a good method for keeping film holders clean in the field. I do this and no longer have dust problems. The heavy pink bags like this last a long time (many many uses). I've already purchased plenty for myself too, if you don't have any, $5 is an easy solution to dusty film & holders.

They are all spoken for and then some. I am going to try to sort this out first come first served, if you sent me a PM I will reply as soon as I can.

Thanks!

Paul

Okay, they are all gone. Perhaps a group buy from staticbags.com would be appropriate. There sure was a lot of interest!

I'll have to check these guys out. I've been on the lookout for the exact same item - antistatic zip lock bags - but with the added feature of being opaque. And in a size to comfortably hold 8x10 holders. I see under the product specifications that these bags (the silvered ones) are part way there, as they claim only 40% light transmission.

Hey, if anyone is organizing a mass order, I could go for 6 of them for my 4x5 holders!

I ordered some of the silver ones to check them out. Sounds like a great alternative to using normal zip-top bags. And their shipping options are great. Thanks for posting about these!

Thanks for the info!

I just ordered some for myself. Even if I don't use them all for film holders, there are other uses for them.

APUG kicks!

Thanks for posting this, I have been wanting some for a long time. I spent a week driving around the gravel roads of South Dakota last summer with the windows out of my Jeep, and despite having my holders in sandwich baggies inside a Photobackpacker film holder case inside my backpack, I was terrified that the dust was getting to my holders. It didn't, but it was still fun being terrified. Then relieved when my negatives came out without dust spots.

A day and a half from MN to CA...Paul, you're awesome. Thanks for the bags!

Barrie B , from Australia , Which size do you recommend for 4X5 double dark holders , Thank-you

Barrie B.,
Check out my post #14. 6x8" is perfect for a single DD holder. The next larger bag size (9x12") would hold several 4x5's. I can check for the exact quantity if you wish.

Hey, if anyone is organizing a mass order, I would go for 10 bags and pay for the shipping to my country.

Awesome just ordered 50 6x8 and 50 9x12... Plus they take pay pal ... Didn't even need to grab my wallet

I don't have a Grafmatic to test, but there is not a huge amount of extra room, not enough for two 4X5 holders, so I would guess you would want the next size up.

I just received a shipment of the 6x8" bags. They seem sturdily constructed and should last quite a while. Shipping was fast, despite the "Blizzard of 2011."

A 4x5" holder fits snugly, not wasting space in my film holder bag. After carefully cleaning my holders, loading them with film, and placing them into bags my concern with dust is greatly diminished.

A semi-related question: does anyone keep loaded holders in the freezer if they don't anticipate using them for a while?

I dont keep loaded holders in the freezer, but I do keep 'em in ziplocks in the fridge.

PS Paul, thanks for the heads-up on this supplier. I've been unhappy with my recent on-line ziploc purchases (too flimsy and misleading sizes). I've ordered some from this source. Just waiting for 'em to arrive in Aus.

Cheers
