I forget what it was...maybe a Minolta X570...but the repair was reasonably "fast", the price was fair, and his Emails/Communication were very good.
I called him about other brands and film sizes that i have and want looked at.....he was pleasant to talk to on the phone, seemed like he knows he stuff, and was generally passionate about these old film cameras.
I Hear/Read ALL The Time about guys with 30-40-50 year old cameras that have never had a CLA...and that they say the cameras "work fine".
I don't know......my experience has been the opposite. Yeah, every camera i have ever sent to a tech "worked", but they all needed something.
I have never been sorry that i sent one of my SLR's to be looked at.....especially those that i had bought recently and had no idea When/If they had ever been worked on.
It is always comforting, to me, to know that the camera has seen a tech and is all straight. I can just worry about composition, or whatever, and do not need to worry about the gear.
