That's a Retina IIc. Kodak was using Roman numerals at that point. It's a small thing, but you don't call it a Leica MVI or a Nikon FII. Plus, a Retina 11c is actually a Retina [Eleven]c.

OK, that was major Type A, what's-your-problem-dude nitpicking. Sorry.

So I leaped and got my wife a Leica M4 for her birthday w/ an elmarit-M 28mm. I'm really excited, she's not home so I ran two rolls through it and bonus of bonus it doesnt appear to need a CLA. I was going to CLA it at Essex but the only exposing errors appear to be mine. Was made in '68, not going to mention the significance of that year but has something to do w/ her b-day! :D Pretty stoked, my last 35mm was my Dad's Argus...I may have too much fun w/ this camera, need to put it away and wrap it in a box, must not touch or covet...oh I'm screwed.

Yashica Electro GSN

A second Yashica Electro GSN. These are great little cameras with fantastic lenses and very accurate meters. Haven't put a roll through it yet, but all appears to be working fine and it is very clean and "pretty". Even has the original lens cap and hot shoe cover.

Yes, you ARE screwed! now you need to find one for you. A nice M2 would fit the bill.

I went out yesterday to get some decent tea bags and have breakfast in a cafe. I happened to wander by a camera shop which I hadn't visited for months and they had an absolutely immaculate Leica M6 TTL 0.85 in the window for €999 (which has to be a bargain because I saw a non-TTL M6 with obvious signs of use for sale at €850 last week in another town). I've been looking for a second body to complement my Zeiss ZI for a couple of months and so snapped it up. I can't find any evidence to suggest that the camera has been used so I reckon I've got a real bargain: an effectively new M6 for way under the price of a new ZI body.

I picked up a Leica IIIg for at least $1200 less than the usual going price. I guess the previous owner had it sitting in a glass cabinet. It needs to be oiled, but otherwise it's in excellent condition.

A lovely 50mm summicron-m arrived in the post... now to get out and enjoy the lovely spring weather.

^Just the look of the Mamiya Super/Press/Universal line makes me want one.
Beautiful Cameras, and the movements on the Super 23 make it extra lust worthy.

My most recent RF purchase is a beat up Ricoh "35" for $9 at a junk/antique store.
First roll of tri-x is in now...

Bought a Leica M4 at a large auction on the assumption that the shutter only had one speed on all settings.
It cost about $300 all costs included.

I was going to store it until I could afford repairs, but having some time on my hands I started working the shutter an 10 minutes later all the speeds where working.
They all sound ok, but I need to get out and test it.

A new black Leica MP and a Luigi half case. I am very happy

A Zhou half case in black leather for my Bessa R3A. Beautifully crafted, not a stitch out of place, and excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommended.

Ok, so I gave up on that auction, it was getting too pricy for what I can afford right now... so I got a Konica Auto S2 instead. I hear it's a decent beginner's rangefinder. Lets hope it's in proper working condition when I receive it. I always feel skeptic about eBay buys... I have never used a rangefinder before... I'm a little worried but excited never the less... =D

Just bought Canonet 17QL GIII. My first ever rangefinder!

It is an honor to now be part of the RF club! Just bought a Yashica Lynx 14E. Cant wait to run some film through it upon arrival (after fixing the seals, etc)!

Doesn't really fit in this thread, but I just received my Cosina - Voigtlaender Bessa-L with Voigtlaender 15mm f/4.5 screw mount, first series. I bought this at the same old auction site.
It's all much smaller than I imagined. I'll take a roll of pictures this Sunday to check that everything works fine and to check the quality of the lens.
When I activate the shutter I hear some sort of a "sdaannngggggg" noise as of a spring which is released after having been compressed. Never heard a shutter doing such a noise. Is this normal?
The rest of the camera feels very cheap, but if the shutter works fine, I'm satisfied.
The ISO selector in particular feels very, very cheap. It's as if the detents were all made out of plastic.

CBA - Camera Buying Addiction??

I'm afraid I'm becoming a collector....

I've just ordered an Agfa Ansco Karomat with the f2 Schneider Xenon lens, in a Compur MX shutter. At the price I paid I could hardly let it pass; that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

This little gem reminds me of a Retina in that the lens board is retractable somewhat into the body, but without the door which in a "proper" folder would then cover the lens. Another oddity, the split image rangefinder splits the ENTIRE viewfinder image! Should make a good street camera, although like my Retina I and IIIc it doesn't have any strap lugs! I've never understood that.

It will live with my other oldsters - the two Retinas mentioned above, a Komaflex S, my father's old AshaiFlex and its lenses, his old Baldina, a Busch Pressman 2x3, and an old Taron.

Fortunately my dear wife is most understanding. And remember, the photo hobby is much cheaper than being a serious bass fisherman! Just keep saying that....
