Holding back the years

First post here. Chinon CS with 55mm ƒ/1.7 and 135mm ƒ/2.8 M42 mount lenses. Its sitting on my desk broken now :/ I shot about 100 rolls through it, I got it for $5 for all that so it definitely was a deal, gonna hunt on eBay to find one, last I checked they were only $25~, just need to find the rarer 28mm screw mount lenses compatible with it. I'm new to film but not photography (been shooting digital for 5 years now) always read in depth on film (as in analog format) but never shot the puck with getting into it tell about 2 months ago, just bought a Fuji GW690, gonna be a while not shooting film tell the GW690 comes and I replace my 35mm but I have about 20 rolls of Fujichrome and Ektachrome being processed and scanned this week so thats exciting.

Minolta Hi Matic 7S that my girlfriend in high school gave to me for Christmas. Then the following Christmas, my brother came home on leave from the Navy and gave me a Yashica SLR. If I recall it was a Yashica TL. I have 2 Hi Matic 7S's s in my collection, but no more Yashica TL.

I have spent good time on reading photography magazines especially 54 to 86 and Summitar cathed my eye. Test results were excellent. I bought a IIIF with oncoated Summitar later other IIIF with coated one. I am using Leica for past 20 years. But first camera was a factory new

My first (around 1970) was an Asahi Pentax H3. A few years later, I traded it for a Spotmatic, which I used through college, and into the 80's. I sold it to a friend, when I switched to Olympus. I went to visit her about a month ago, and she said, "got something for you." She gave me back the Spotmatic. It could use new seals, and the shutter needs exercising, but it felt great to hold it again. 30+ years later, it's come home...

Canon AV1.

Back in 1982 I was going on a trip to Knoxville Tennessee to see the Worlds Fair and then down to Florida to go swimming in the ocean. I was working part time at a Venture store while going to community college. My boss marked down the display Canon with flash to $80.00 so I bought that for my trip.

With the AV1 being aperture preferred only, I ended up selling it to help fund a Contax 139. It was the Canon AV1 though that really started my interest in photography.

A Leica 3F with four lenses including a 127mm Wollensak f3.5 lens. Before that I had a 120-size Rolleiflex that I won in a raffle in 1956 for a buck.

Well I immediately started with medium format - a Brownie Hawkeye box camera shooting 620 film.

Hanging is not good for longevity. I strongly recommend that you disconnect from the rope and jump in with both feet.

1972 Nikon FM;and soon after that 3lenses 50mm1.4;35mmf/2anf 85mmf/2;still all here and still workingas on day 1.sometimes ,I use the lenses with my D800.thank you Nikon for durability and compatibility

Voigtlander Vitessa T. My father gave it to me in 1976; he bought it new in Germany in 1954 when he (we) were stationed there. He said I could use it to trade in on a 35mm SLR. Bought a Fujica ST605 but kept the Vitessa for years but never used it. Finally sold it. Really wish I had kept it now.

Mine was a 1953 Argus C3 (bought in 2004) that I used as my main camera for 7 years. It was also my first camera I ever bought...haha.



I need to take that out to shoot with this summer

I think my Zenit e was the first 35mm camera I bought but I was too scared of it! I used to get it out of its case and just smell it, yes bit weird!

So I got an Olympus Trip 35 with some birthday money and for a while that went everywhere with me!
