YN 565EX II with 5D mk I

I got my 565 a few days ago and found out it is not fully working with my 5D mk I. The flash reads everything from the camera, focal length, f number but won't fire. Can this be solved with a PC cable?

Have you tried switching modes? Or checked if flash was properly/fully inserted into hot shoe ?

Works fine on 50D. As for the hot shoe, flash slides completely into it, as I said, it comunicates with the camera but does not fire.

You're not using live view are you? Some 3rd party flash gadgets don't like silent shooting in live view. Not sure if that's a problem with the 5D but just putting it out there.
