Accept for the wind, today was a great day for pinhole shooting.

This last month Northern Indiana has been alternating clear blue bird skies with cloudy rain and drizzle. Yesterday was heavy overcast and rain but this morning was sunny bright with few clouds.

I snapped a couple of photos then headed home to go the things I should have been doing while I was shooting photos.

I hope all goes as well for all the pinholers out today.

Good Luck

North central North Carolina started overcast, but by the time I got out with my Zeiss-Ikon Ideal (9x12 cm plate camera, with f/256 pinhole in shutter with bayonet, replaces the original 13.5 cm f/4.5 Tessar) it was cycling between sunny and cloud shadows. Windy-ish, but I have a heavy surveying tripod and had no problems with the wind.

One of the plate holders that I loaded in 2005 gave trouble removing the dark slide, apparently because the film sheath had gotten unlatched, but the other three holders I had with me worked as they should. Barring excessive light leaks, I should have three nice exposures. I rated the long-expired TXT (Tri-X Professional 320) at EI 100 and gave 3x exposure for reciprocity failure, so wound up with 15-20 second exposures. I hope to get them developed tonight, but prints will be a week or two at least, since my darkroom will be built over the coming week (and I then need to move everything in there and get it all set up).

North central Pa., rain and drizzle ALL day. It was raining hard when I rolled outta bed, and slowly progressed to misty drizzle and deep overcast after lunch. Typical day of late.

Northern Nevada is beautiful today. Perfect for pinhole photography. Up in the mountains there are variable breezes so if your tripod is a bit light you may want to add a bit of weight if you can. Beyond that the sun is warm, the skies are blue, the clouds are fluffy and white. I don't think it could get much better!
