North central North Carolina started overcast, but by the time I got out with my Zeiss-Ikon Ideal (9x12 cm plate camera, with f/256 pinhole in shutter with bayonet, replaces the original 13.5 cm f/4.5 Tessar) it was cycling between sunny and cloud shadows. Windy-ish, but I have a heavy surveying tripod and had no problems with the wind.
One of the plate holders that I loaded in 2005 gave trouble removing the dark slide, apparently because the film sheath had gotten unlatched, but the other three holders I had with me worked as they should. Barring excessive light leaks, I should have three nice exposures. I rated the long-expired TXT (Tri-X Professional 320) at EI 100 and gave 3x exposure for reciprocity failure, so wound up with 15-20 second exposures. I hope to get them developed tonight, but prints will be a week or two at least, since my darkroom will be built over the coming week (and I then need to move everything in there and get it all set up).
