Hello,

Am looking for a yellow square 75mm x 75mm filter to fit the Lee RF75 system to use with my Fuji GA645zi.

Lee don't sell this singly (only as part of a b+w set, and I don't need the other two filters in the set), and have quoted a 10 week turnaround for a special order. Gulp...

Any alternatives? I think Cokin make something this size, but I'm not sure about the quality.

Any feedback on Cokin quality?

Or any alternatives in the 75mm x 75mm size?

Cheers,
Gavin

Kevin,

Thanks for this.

Had not heard of SRB before and have checked online and can order from UK factory.

Have you used them? What quality are these filters compared to other brands?

Cheers,
Gavin

I just measured my Cokin 'P' its 84mm square andthe 'A' series is70mm. Have you tried Cromatek from Spaphoto in the UK?
As for Cokin quality, they work very well (not the Chinese knock-offs) I have a set of four P series for B&W work and a couple of adapter rings. I also have a set of special effects in the A series.

I think the Cromatek and Lee are the same size.

Hi Gavin, I've hardly used other brands, but have bought several filters from SRB. They look good, but are probably not exactly the same quality level as Lee or Cokin. But I found them to be fine and their service is excellent.

Lee filters are excellent. You can't get better.
Cokin are at the bottom of the quality scale.

I don't know SRB. But Cromatek are good too.

Just one example of SRB's customer service - I bought a B&W viewing filter from them, but they accidentally sent it by surface mail. So they sent another by air mail and let me keep both. They were slightly different colour filters, and they gave quite a clear explanation of the colour range to be expected and which one would be considered the "normal" colour (the olive green one).

I use Lee in the 100mm size all the time for my landscape work and the quality really is superb - the only other brand I've used are Hitech who are also great. I have never used any others so can't compare...

Kevin, cheers for SRB info.

Any other options / quality feedback on other yellow 75x75 filters?

Cheers,
Gavin

How about cutting a Lee 100 filter to size?
Or is the yellow filter only available in a kit in 100 mm size too?

Thought of this, but am reluctant to start faffing about with cutting if I can avoid it...! :D

The Lee yellow is available singly in 100mm size, I use it for about 95% of pictures taken with my Pentax 67II.

Gavin

Hitech cut me a yellow filter to fit the Lee RF75 system - brilliant price too. I've got a few Hitech filters and they are great quality.

Dead Link Removed

Hope this info helps anyone else looking for filters to fit the Lee holder.

Cheers,
Gavin
