I have one but am unsure of how to adjust the rangefinder. Why don't you contact the "Yashica Guy"? Just goggle his name and send him your question. He's a nice fellow.

Hi Joao,

You might be able to help me out, here.

I have a Yashica Minister II which I bought on eBay.

Lovely cosmetic condition, the rangefinder and meter seem to work fine, the lens seems to have spent it's whole life under a UV filter

But... the shutter won't fire.

Can you just reassure me, please, does your shutter fire after rewinding WITHOUT a film in the camera?

Some cameras will not fire without a film, such as the Voigtlander Vito B. I don't think this applies to the Yashica Minister, I reckon my shutter is jammed or the linkage is broken or worn, but if you could confirm this before I take the plunge and dismantle the thing - it will save me wasting a film to check.

Thanks very much.

Thanks for that.

Let's hope I can get away with a splash of lighter fluid after I get the front element off!
