Hi All,

Today I bought a yashica mat-124g for what I feel is a good price. All seems to be in working order, except for the focus knob. It is loose, as I it spins freely and doesn't effect the focusing mechanism. When I applied pressure it did engage. So I tried to tighten the brass nut and it still just spun. When I took it off and looked at it it looked as if the knob is missing some ribs that fit inside a grooved collar. Anyways, is there a place I can buy a new knob or has anybody come across this and performed a diy fix? Thanks in advance for your feed back.

If you're not in too much of a hurry, wait until you find an inexpensive non-functioning Mat-124g (or Mat-124) camera and use the knob from that as replacement. Perhaps the focusing knobs from some of the other Yashica Mat-series cameras will fit, I'm not sure. Having a second camera strictly for spare parts can come in handy at times.
