OK, I really doubt Yashica is going to come out with a new Electro GSN, but wouldn't it be nice! Not sure what they are up to. Watch the video on their website. And no, I don't think they are making clip on iPhone lenses...

So they just updated an error moments ago both on the kickstarter campaign and the phoblographer's site. . It's not a 1.4mp camera, it's a 14 mp camera. While it's not the film camera I would have liked, it's certainly an interesting idea. I don't think I'll back it, but if it comes to market and if the reviews are good I could give it a go. It's an attractive looking camera at least.

It's either genius move or the world has gone mad. Basically, you pop in a "cartridge" to set the ISO and image type, i.e. things normally done with 2 menu entries on a traditional digicam.

Hipsters may love the retro style....

The cartridge sounds like a throwback to Minolta's late and thoroughly unlamented SLR mode cards of the 1980s.

whatever their is for their KS campaign it's beautiful

not really sure why it is a let down.
if i had the $ i'd buy one, looks like fun.

I agree. It looks cute and fun. I can see it becoming a hit. People want a tactile experience and too feel special/different. You get a unique experience with this while having fun. If I had $150 to throw away I would get one.

It's an interesting camera, and I am tempted to get one as a fun toy.

For $150, I don't expect a Leica, but its specifications are worrisome. Plastic camera, fixed aperture of 2.8, limited shutter speed options, questions about whether this is fixed-focus. I fear that this is something I would only use once or twice and then leave on the shelf.

It is also made by a Chinese company the licensed the "Yashica" name only. I may still break down and purchase one, but the more I investigate, the less attractive the camera becomes.
