Yashica Lynx 1000 Repair?

So I got a Broken Yashica lynx 1000 with 45mm F1.8 lens. The aperture blades are not working properly. When I turn the aperture ring only one blade moves. other wise just needs a typical CLA.

I'm wondering if this is worth repairing or is it better to just buy a working one. As I'd have to send it to someone to get it repaired as I got no skills when it comes to doing these types of repairs.

Good question! I also have a sick puppy -- a Yashica LYNX 1400 with the f1.4 lens. It is in fabulous cosmetic condition but the shutter does not work. I'd love to get it fixed. The lens is quite wonderful.

If it were me, I'd try and do it myself. I don't think the camera is worth that much, so it would be good practice. There are a number of videos out there ("Yashica Lynx repair" as the search) that should get you started in the right direction.

I figured it was not the highly "valued". But I do like the features and feel of the lynx. So I'll give the recommended repair guys a ring.

It's one of my favorites too, and produces beautiful pictures. I think it's incredibly underrated. Not many rangefinders had the same expansive shutter speed range and aperture range as the 1000 did.

I also favor my Yashica Lynx, meter has never worked but its had many rolls through it with no problems.
