Yashica FRII + DSB 50/1,9 and Soligor lenses, any good?

- Yashica FRII
- Yashica DSB 50/1,9
- Soligor Wide - Auto 28/2,5 MC
- Soligor Auto - Zoom 70 - 150/3,5 MC

Is this all crap, or are they any useful? How will the lenses perform compared to more modern lenses like Canon EF 50/1,8, EF 28/2,8 and EF 70-200/4?
And finally how will the lenses perform with a "CO/Y-EOS"-adapter?

The Yashica FRII is quite decent, but I use it with a Planar 50mm f/1.7 T*
I don't know about the Soligors, except that I have an old Soligor Zoom 35-140 f/3.5 Auto Macro and it's quite good. Very sharp. I use it with a Minolta XD-11 (it's an MC)

Yashica's own lenses were always excellent, it was a nice camera too well made, some Soligor lenses were very good years ago they were amongst the best of the independents but Vivitar & Tamron surpassed them in the mid 70's.

Using lenses on adaptors woks but usually with loss of some functionality, I use Pentax screw theard lenses on my EOS and get excellent results but everything is manual stopping the lenses down & obviously focussing.

The advantage of this camera was the shared mount with the Zeiss Contax slrs of that era. I used to lust after the FRI as teenager.

Soligor Lens .. I need an ID

I recently acquired a very heavy Soligor lens. The lens is a Auto Wide 1.2:8 28mm. Can you identify the camera mount? And whats up with the rectanglur shape? It has two pins. one moveable(shiney one) and a stationary wider black "pin". The matte silver ring is the aperture ring and reads 2.8 - 16 with EE at the end.

When researching the net I thought I found a similarity to Nikon, Miranda, C/Y. But alas...nowhere. You just don't see too many rear end shots of lenses or one of the lens rear end and camera body throat/mouth.

EE -- I want to say Konica. But I'm not 100% on that.

And I think that some Petri lenses are marked "EE" on the lens face ring.

You might want to try it on a Praktica B-mount. Its similar to Pentax K, but not quite interchangeable. Also try Minolta or Konica. Its not C/Y or Nikon F.

In fact Konica does have it's own style of imcompatibility.

Try Butkus--one camera model at a time until you find what you are loking for. Thats how I found out what the camera someone gave me with a missing name plate was.

I have a Soligor 35-140 and a Soligor 135mm f 2.8 nd have been pleased with the results on film and digital as long as you dont use them wide open

This most definitely is a Konica mount. I just compared it with a Hexanon 50 mm.
The reason there are so few adapters is the 'back distance' lens to film distance. The lenses are useable on The Olympus 'E' system from what I have read.
