On my last few tests with my 'Gift' Yashica FR1 I had some light leaks -- so I have renewed the door seals -- then on last test film small leaks again - maybe from the very narrow seal along top and base of camera back --- as I cannot cut the foam so narrow I have heard that some 'black twine' can be used but cannot find anything like that in the sewing shops here -- can anyone help with ideas ?

I have now managed to cut narrow strips of foam using a 'Rotary Trimmer' made in Poland that I got for £1-00 at my Camera Club's auction and renewed the seals.

I saw this somewhere as being a "yarn" -type seal, or just plain black polyester yarn of a certain dimension that works. I guess you'd have to have some sort of adhesive in the grooves to make sure it will stay in place. Check the web for "light seal yarn" maybe?

A local lady contacted me who had bits of 'yarn' left over from her sewing but NONE of it was the right thickness and she had only white -- so I have used the foam strips I got from 'Hobby Crafts' shop in Romford for 85 pence a sheet !
