Hello, I'm new.

I just got a Yashica Electro 35 GX from craigslist yesterday. It seems that I can still press down the shutter release even when the shutter lock dial is on "L" (ie. locked, image of the GX attached). From what I read this feature is supposed to prevent the battery from draining when locked. Is the shutter release physically stop from being pressed when it's locked? because there seems to be no difference either way, which makes me think it just doesn't work.

I checked out Yashica guy but I was unable to find anything concerning this.

Does anyone have experience with this? would it be easy to fix?

Thanks for reading.

I recommend you contact Mark Hama. He completely fixed & refurbed my Electro 35 GX. Great guy too.

Good luck!
