A while ago I got a Yashica 35cc, a rare beauty with a good lens and probably the most silent shutter I know - a Leica M6 is MUCH louder.

Are there any users of this tiny camera in this forum?

I don't have a 35cc but I wish I did. I do have a Yashica Electro 35GS which I like very much.

I have 3 of them. A bit soft wide open, but otherwise very good. I still use the GSNs and Bessas more often, but the size of the CC is nice.

I have a Electro 35 CC but doesn't use it much. Still not used to the egronomics, which is a pity. So much potential.

Today I added a Nikon HR-4 lens hood - fits perfectly. Some people report this helps much better against flare than the original Yashica hood. In a few days I will know whether this is true.

First example... bad film, bad print, bad scanner, but I lived for the moment and enjoyed the shot...

Any idea on how to set hyperfocal distance on this camera? I use hyperfocal a lot but there are no marking on the lens! Was there a table on the user manual or something?

Good morning;

There are indeed some Yashica users out here. While I do not have the 35cc, I do have the Lynx 1000, Lynx 1.4, and the Electro 35 GSN. The Lynx fits my hands nicely, but the GSN is starting to get noticeably small. I have no idea how my hands would do with a 35cc. I am over 6 feet tall.

In any case, when you sort out the battery for the meter circuit, the cameras are very enjoyable. It refreshes my memories of my college days when the Lynx 1000 was what I could afford. Took lots of nice photographs and slides of trips in the mountains, the seashore, East Coast cities I visited; all the photographs are gone now. But I did get a replacement camera to help conjure up some of those nice memories.

Your observation about the nice quiet "snick" of the shutter matches mine. Later I replaced the Lynx 1000 with a Minolta SR-1b and an AUTO ROKKOR-PF 1:1.4 f=58mm lens. Everyone knew when I turned that thing loose, as it went; "CLANK - Vzzzzzzst - FLOCK!"
