Hi everyone, I have an XPan on order and I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the Xpan 1 will work properly with Ilford SFX or Rollei 400 infrared films. Has anyone tried these, and what results did you get? I would really like to see the effect if there's no problem with light leaks etc. I also have some color infrared but I'm a little afraid of taking a chance since that's recommended only for fully manual cameras from what I understand. Thanks

What do you mean? Xpan works well with all films. Light leaks is equal for all films and there shouldn't be any.

You aren't familiar with those films and you're probably refering to light piping on infrared films, yes?

Hi, sorry, I meant to refer to infrared exposure, not light leak, due to the film advance in the Xpan 1. I have read that there was some issue with the film advance of the Xpan 1 affecting HIE film. I have used SFX and Rollei 400 on other cameras but wonder if they are sensitive to the film advance in the Xpan 1? Thanks

I have the XPan II and have used HIE film in it. I found the the area around the sprocket holes were exposed but the exposure did not extend into the picture frame. I gather it was a bit worse on the Xpan I.

X-PAN-I, SFX and IR400S do work perfectly.
There is no negative influence of the filmadvance IR-LED to the film.
Only the Kodak HIE (RIP) had minor problems with this camera.

Oh ok...
No problem at all with SFX. Haven't used the others.

Great, thanks Klaus, that was what I had hoped. I have some SFX and will try it out when I get the camera.
