The round metal canister above.. unexpected wow flashback:
As a child, I saw one at my grandfather's French farmhouse, where there were some WWII stuff, some 55 years ago, and I had, of course, totally forgotten, until now.

These are important documents. I wish we knew the countries/years they were taken, but regardless, they're important historic records.

Interesting that this soldier is armed with a Browning Hi-Power pistol. Large numbers of these were used to supplement Luger P 08 and Walther P38, after Germany overran Belgium and the FN factory was put to supplying the German war effort.
