I am considering getting a Transmission Step Wedge for 6x6 enlargers (i.e. Stouffer TP120-21 or TP120-31).

Prices for new seem to be quite steep, so I am hoping someone has finished doing its tests and dose not need his anymore?

To be shipped to UK.

Did you ever locate a Stouffer TP120-21 for somewhat less than list price? I am seeking one as well.

$53 at the Stouffer website, seems reasonable. You’re only going to buy it once.

+ 1 for you are only going to buy once and you may find you need to use more than once.

If you don't want to spend any money, you can use an old control strip as a step wedge.

I know it is not precisely what you are looking for but there is a company in the states that is selling some T2115C step wedges for $15.20 each, one of them could be cut into three...

The T2115C is a 21 step .15 increment strip 5" x 1/2" wide with a Dmax of 3.05

The TP120-21 is a 21 step .15 increment, 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" with a Dmax of 3.05

It would be a bit of messing about as there is not so much room for the first step due to branding but if it is being used for enlarging to 8x10 I think it will be usable.

If you are interested do a search for "Exposure Calculator For Screen Printing" on either ebay.co.uk or ebay.com

As regards shipping to the UK that's $13.78 (they said they will refund the difference after sale to me) for standard mail 8-12 days but you will have to contact them first to confirm.

What do you plan to do with the step wedge in the enlarger? A T2115 is cheapest and in contact with film/paper is best for testing. A test negative enlarged to paper will demonstrate flare.

You are entirely correct Bill, enlarging the step wedge rather than contact printing is not an accurate use of the tool to the point of introducing the high likelihood of producing completely invalid test results for some types of testing.

Their prices are very reasonable and once you have one you will keep and use it for a long time. I wouldn't consider to sell mine.

I hope you realize they do not need their calibrated version would they call calibrated is just the fact that I measured each step. ThereI hope you realize they do not need their calibrated version would they call calibrated is just that they measured each step. By the uncalibrated version which is much less money. that they measured each step. By the uncalibrated version which is much less money.
