Want to Buy WTB: Stouffer Step Wedge

Trader history for ParkerSmithPhoto (0)

I picked one up directly from them a few months back. It may be a little more than one on ebay, but assuming you need t for doing your testing, it may be worth the extra $ to get one from them that you know is accurate and not damaged, etc., after all, you will most likely make you decisions on development and exposure off of this. I believe you can also ask them to proof the wedge before sending to be sure the values in the wedge are accurate to the density measurements listed. The person I spoke with there was very nice and I received it a few days later.

Hope this helps,

Colin

+1 for Stouffer.net. I have 3 of their step wedges: 21, 31, and a 31 4x5. Use them mostly for experimenting with different toners & papers.

The uncalibrated 21 step wedge in the Stouffer catalog is much cheaper than the uncalibrated 21 step Kodak wedge I bought many years ago in a camera store. At least the Kodak wedge was accurate except for one or two steps. Calibration might be necessary for some lab work, but not for most photographers.

Do you care what size/type, number of steps, calibrated or uncalibrated? There is some variety in these.
The uncalibrated 21 step "strip" type (#T2115) is actually quite affordable directly from Stouffer at the link provided above - only $7. Then again, I see there is a $20 minimum order now.

Yup. Also bought one at B&S. The uncalibrated one is only $11. Including shipping to europe i think i paid some 16 or so dollars. Not that bad at all!
Ofcourse they also got em calibrated and in 4x5. But for me this size was just fine.
