I picked up a contax at a thrift store.
Unfortunately, the back is badly dented. I was hoping someone had a replacement.

Does the Contaflex back work on the contax?

Nevermind.. I was able to tap out the dent. You can hardly tell it was there now.

Hi there,

I am new here but looking forward to having a community like this with people who still shoot film. Darin - if you happen to need any other Contax IIA parts, let me know. I have a spare one in which the shutter doesn't work, though I may try to fix it. I have a working one and so this one could be a fun learning project. But if you need anything off of it, let me know.

(same goes for Contax 523/24, of which I have two)

Yeah, I saw that it was solved. I was just commenting that I have a spare "parts" IIa so if in the future he needs anything else.

Not familiar with the Kiev copy, though I've been wanting to get one.

The Kiev is a copy of the earlier Contax line. I wouldn't expect any parts to be compatible with the IIa/IIIa.

The camera came with a f2 planar. I understand the f1.5 is more desirable. But I almost never shoot wide open. So it doesn't matter to me.
