Hi,

I don't think I have seen an archival print washer pop up locally for over a year now especially at larger sizes.

I am looking for one, within Australia preferred.

Hi, I have got a print washer that's pretty big. I'll have to measure it though.
Although it has some very small holes in it that could be patched up.
It's made by a well known brand. I think that it's from Sydney.
It's a bath type print washer that has no screen at the base.
Thanks, Paul.

I've just measured the print washer.
Outside.
L- 82cm.
L Including Drain Recess- 88cm.
W- 61cm.
H-30cm.
Inside.
L- 77.4cm.
L Including Drain Recess- 83.4cm.
W- 65.7cm.
H- 20.5cm.
The L & W measurements are taken at the top of the washer.
So you can expect maybe 2cm lost on the inside of the L & W measurements.
I think that the company who made it is "Peter Michael". They also made sinks. I use to have one of these.
I would have to unpack my other print washer to confirm the manufacturer though.
Thanks, Paul.

If this doesn't work out;I've got the same for $300+ shipping. Why do shipping companies make the most money on 2nd hand goods?

That's the one I mean. Although mine is , I think, Fibre Glass.
It's not the solid PVC. I have got 2 of them. Both of them are Fibre Glass.
The first is in Excellent +++ Condition and has a Perspex Grid with circular holes.
The second has a few tiny holes with no grid.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the Fibre Glass is double walled.
It's not single walled like the one at the pmedarkrooms.com website.
It also has some feet for it to stand on that are also Fibre Glass.
The feet are part of the washers structure. So they can handle the capacity of waters weight.

Size is never too big when your going to print a number of images.
You want the prints to flow around each other. Rather than sitting on top of one another, letting the water flow around each print.
The water can then wash away the chemicals far more easily from the print. Rather than letting it stay near the prints surface.

Thanks peter, I'll have a think about it. I'm looking for something a little bigger though as I can currently wash up to 11x14 but with a bit more water than I want.
I can offer a 16x20 Ecowash from Florida for $250 plus shipping.send email to
rlambrec@ymail.com if interested.

Ralph, thanks for the offers - is that AUD or USD? Shipping may cost more than the washer!

J Paul, I agree larger area is handy however I'm not sure I have the physical space. I'll need to measure up when I move to my new space.

Bests,
C

It's USD and yes, shipping will be expensive to AUS.I frequently ship stuff to my son in Melbourne;so I know.

Well it's not too big for the job. It's just that you haven't got any room as it would nearly take up the whole of the desk space that the enlarger is sitting on. Although it could sit on something outside of the tent. I presume that you would be using Hypo Clear. That would cut down your washing time dramatically. I once had a darkroom in my bedroom with all my developing trays on an ironing board and a bucket of water on the floor. It worked rather well. I would then do my final wash in the bathroom sink. So it would work.

Bumping this, Paul how much did you want for that washer?
One of the washers has got some tiny pinprick holes in it without the grid screen to stop the prints from flowing to the bottom of the tank. The holes are above the waterline I think. It's $270.
The other has no holes and has a screen. It's $440. Thanks.

that's USD and yes, shipping to AUS is not cheap but I use safe ship, who always use the lowest cost option.
