By some off chance, does anyone have the screw cap for the bottom of the F3 where the motor drive goes? I just realized it's missing on my camera and remember reading somewhere that light will leak into the chamber from here. There go my first few shots, haha.

Fingers crossed!

Also looking for one! In the mean time though you can put black electrical tape over the opening. that's what I've done with no light leaks.

Thanks! Did that and then my motor drive came in, haha. However, I still like shooting it without the MD so I may keep it this way for a while. Good luck on your search!

Jeez I'm in the same boat - bought the MD and have somehow mislaid the cap - the Pentax MD has a slot where you can store the cap but I guess not on the Nikon.

Actually, I'm like 99% sure the Nikon has a slot to put the battery cap. I recall watching a video recently that showed it... I'll have to look again.

That is correct... a locking slot in the battery holder... and the first place folks should look.

Well...this is embarrassing ! so after YamanoteE235 and Brians post I have just gone back and rechecked the MD - and lo and behold - the "missing" cap was in the slot ! Thanks guys !!
