Looking for a foot switch compatible with the Kearsarge 301 timer - it has a weird 3-parallel-prong setup and I can't find anything compatible other then their own foot switch, which I can't find for sale at a reasonable price.

You have probably seen the listing for the foot switch that KHB assembles for those timers, but in case you haven't, here it is - $98.00 CDN plus shipping: http://store.khbphotografix.com/Footswitch-for-Kearsarge-Darkroom-Timers.html
FWIW, I had KHB make a similar foot switch for an Ilford Multigrade controller/timer (unusual connector) and, while it was expensive, it was of great quality.
I used it for several years, and it was well worth it.
I believe this shows where the connector fits on a similar Kearsage timer:

Thanks Matt - yes, I did see that. Just seems like an awful lot and I was hoping to just find a used one for less. As usual, I'll probably look for months and then find that the KHB deal was the best I could get anyway.

Those are pretty rare. Took me a long time to find one, although I had to put it together myself (only found the plug). Omega timer foot switches can work but they don't have the third ground plug.

Bummer. Thanks for the info!

I am using a Beseler Footswitch No. 8179 with my Kearsarge 301 timer. It is probably equally hard to track down.

The foot-switch is not difficult to find: here's one at $ 59. But do more search, I found mine in Europe for about half . . .

That plug is more difficult. Here in Europe I never found it, but I did find one for just the plus and minus wires. That worked fine. I have had two 301 timers since the 80ties. One I bought in Paris, the other from B&H, for European voltage. Now I use a third 301 left to me by a friend and I simply soldered a metal grip to the plus and minus wires and just stuck them into the socket. Works fine and can't just come out.

Oh, and btw in my case this is a hand-switch just next to the enlarger's baseboard. It is seldom I put them on the floor. I attach some pictures . . .

ps: if you want I can send a picture of the original plug . . .

That's so cool - thanks for the info
