Hi,
The camera is not sold yet but I have 2 people ahead of you that are interested, so if those deals don't go thru I'll let you know in a couple days. Mine is a Crown Graphic the Speed Graphic you were previously interested in has an old fashioned focal plane shutter in the back but the crown is for lenses with leaf shutters. See mylisting on APUG for more info on the one I have up for sale.
Thanks,
John
Yes, your Crown Graphic looks very nice! But I do want the camera to have a focal plane shutter, and also the side mounted Kalart range finder (easy to adjust to different focal lengths).

Thanks,
Trond

Trond and all, a neighbor called for some help so I'm a bit later posting than I expected.

The good news is, I have three 4x5 Speed Graphics with Grafloc backs and Kalart rangefinders.

The bad news is, you don't want any of them. One had the focal plane shutter removed and the other two have malfunctioning shutters. I'm sure the two can be serviced but I can't do it. My fine motor skills are degraded.

I'm sorry.

I have repaired a Speed Graphic before, so as long no important parts are broken, I'm sure I can get the focal plane shutter to work. Perhaps you can post a couple of photos of the two cameras?

Thanks,
Trond

I owe you another apology. These aren't Pacemaker models. They're Anniversary Speed Graphics onto which someone swapped Grafloc backs (no, it wasn't me). I didn't notice until I turned them around to see the front. The only 4x5 Pacemaker Graphics I have are Crowns.

I'm sorry...

FYI, an Anniversary Graphic that has been retrofit with a Graflok back is a pretty sweet combination. Just ask the man who owns one.

Don't worry! I appreciate the time and effort you have put into this.

If there's a specific configuration you're looking for, I can probably hook you up...I specialize in rebuilding Graphics and have Pacemaker Speed I'm about to put on ebay. It's a really nice one...pretty typical setup for an early '50s Speed Graphic--135mm Optar, Graflok, Ektalite, Kalart, etc. The camera was completely overhauled--rear shutter curtain was replaced, timed, and speeds set, rangefinder was rebuilt with a better beamsplitter, and fully calibrated. I set the focal plane shutter speeds, and they're spot on--at 1/1000th they measured a perfect .001 on the shutter speed tester. Lots of other work done on it...I basically dissemble them down to the bare box and go from there. it's ready to shoot as soon as you get it, and looks great. Price is $499.00...I ship internationally, and to the EU it would probably run somewhere around $60-$70 for Priority Mail International. If you would rather have one without a lens, I can rebuild another one (I'd rather sell this one complete). Price would probably be more like $399-$425.00. I can see what all I have on the shelf if you like... I can send pics if you're interested...
Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Sorry that I'm so slow in getting back to you, but that sounds like a great camera! But I decided to buy a non-functional, almost complete, Speed-Graphic, which I will try to get to work. I repaired my previous Speed Graphic, so I think it will be fine. It will of course not be as nice as your camera, but I enjoy repairing things (at least when I mangage to do it sucsessfully!), so I'm looking forward to taking it apart.

Thanks,
Trond
