Hi all,

I am looking for an adapter to mount an enlarging lens with 25mm thread (in this case a Durst-branded Componar 1:4,5/75) in a lens board with 39mm thread, such as a Durst LAPLA.

The previous owner of my L1200 had this lens mounted in a board that as far as I can tell was clearly for a different enlarger, since I cannot mount it on the 1200 without light leaking around it and messing up prints.

The 39mm board (LAPLA) is pretty easy to find for sale online (though hey if someone here has one of them they're willing to sell that'd also be great) but that's the smallest 'native' thread size for the 1200, as far as I can tell. So the adapter ring would be particularly helpful.

Happy days,
Hal

Durst enlargers often have interchangeable parts. The Lapla board is very common also in the 25mm diameter and if you can use a regular lapla 39 than you can also use the 25mm one. If i remember right they are all 77mm in external diameter. On my laborator 138 I wasn't able to find a Lapla 58 to mount the el-nikkor 210; someone suggested expencive solutions or rare/exotical pieces from online retailers. I bought a step down ring 77-58, aluminium, filed two points to engage the lens plate retainers and now it's fully functional with 3,7 euros.
So look for a regular Lapla 25 or try to find a stepdown ring 39-25
kind regards,
paolo

The LAPLA 25 boards turn up fairly regularly (there are several on ebay at the moment in the $13-$50 range)....

Whilst I can't help with the LAPLA boards (need to hang on to mine, including the 25mm), I do have a 25mm->39mm adaptor going spare - It came off a turret of lenses and was intended to be locked in place with a grub screw. As a result, no locking ring or flange, and is quite thick at 16mm.

Thanks to both replies -- the L1200 manual I have didn't even mention the existence of the LAPLA 25. That would be a far better bet than the step-down ring. As mentioned, the 25mm board I have definitely does not fit on the 1200 (it has a double-sided bevel, unlike the LAPLA 39 that is beveled on one side and flat on the other -- this prevents it from fitting properly under the retaining lugs. Will be in touch again about Paul's adaptor if I have no luck with the 25mm board.
