I am in search of a retaining ring for a Seiko #1 shutter (marked "LS16" on the shutter) — it's for a Fujonon WS 180 ƒ/5.6 lens... supposedly this is the same size as a Copal #1, but it clearly isn't and the retaining ring I ordered is too small.

So if anyone has an extra one floating around or a non-functional Seiko LS16 Shutter, I would love to negotiate with you. Shipping would be to Leipzig, Germany.

Thanks!

I have a Fujinon lens in a Seiko #1 shutter that had no retaining ring. What I found is that the shutter is the same outer size as a Copal #1, but the mounting thread is larger. On my shutter, the mount thread is 46mm x 0.75mm pitch. For a Copal #1, it's 39 x 0.75mm.

You can try getting someone to make you a retaining ring. Or, if your shutter has a 46mm thread like mine, that's the same thread as a 46mm filter. I got a 49->46mm step down ring (easy to find) and it screws right on. You may need to do some filing on it to clear the lens body.

Oh, how bloody brilliant! Thanks so much! I haven't found any machine shops here in Leipzig and my German hasn't come back to me well enough to investigate that, but this is a VERY simple solution!

Again, thanks!
