I would think that the easiest thing in the world to find would be used darkroom trays but I would be wrong. I have large trays but I find my supply of smaller trays has really dwindled. Most are old and cracked. But I can't find replacements nearby, unless they come with an entire darkroom. I just want trays..

So, if you have 8x10 and 11x14 trays for sale, and you are in the Ottawa area (Montreal and Toronto are ok too since I frequently visit both), please let me know.

If you lived close to me, I could probably help you out, however you don't. In the sizes you want, they are pretty cheap new from B&H.

When I was in high school I used plastic dish pans for my developer trays. They were deep which minimized splashes and cost very little. Check your local hardware store.

When at school and setting up my first ever budget darkroom at home, I too couldn't afford the lovely Paterson ones at the towns photographic store.

I ended up buying and using circular flower pot trays. They were a pretty big size as I managed to do some 10 x 8's in them.

And thinking about it, I even sea-saw developed my first few films in them as well. Happy memories. :D

Plastic Kitty litter trays from the Dollar store also work, except they have smooth bottoms.

Don, I have some 8x10 and 12x16 trays that I don't use anymore. I'm in Germany now but I'll be back next week. I'll be in touch.

Or organize a Photrio Ottawa pub night and I'll exchange them for a nice pint of beer. It's been a while since the last apug pub night.

If you search for a Print washer, I have a nice Nova Academy 12x16" model listed in the Classified

Just PM me if you're interested. Regards, Ginette

They are pretty cheap, you are right. But with shipping and the exchange rate, they get more expensive than local second-hand. Always a problem with cross-border stuff.

I have three Stainless Steel trays that will handle 11" x 14 " prints. They are indestructible and stain proof. I also have 8x10 and 16x20 trays (normal plastic ) .I live in upstate New York however I travel to Toronto often . I can bring them to Toronto for your pickup. The next trip to TO will be in November. If you are interested let me know.
