Want to Buy WTB Calumet Turbo filter...

Before Calumet closed someone there was trying to dig up a complete Turbo Filter rig.
Anyway they sold a lot of them, and I rented one a couple times.
I'd like to own one. If you have one or most of one, let's talk.

No... Turbo filter has spinning disk. 3 quadrants (what would you call that.?). As the disk spun you synced each of 3 (or 3 channels of strobes) to each of the 3 "filters" Clear, slight diffused, and very diffused. Frankly it's a ways of doing photoshop effects straight on the negative!
I have some portraits I made 20 years ago somewhere... I should just dig them out and post them.

The disk spun fast enough your could do the exposure almost instantaneously. I think a 1/30th sync speed for the 3 distinct exposures in one was in order.


(Wow... I just "Googled' it... not easy to find reference or examples.) They sold new for around $999.95 There was a wireless option I think (early days of radio slaves).

Disk spinning at 300 ish rpm that you shot through... that synced to a sync deal that sent the signal you chose to the lighting... only worked with strobes... mono-lights were best unless you had 3 power packs... that would work too.

Hosemaster had a remote shutter, not a disk, if you have the disk, it's the Turbo filter... you may have both, of course if you have the hosemaster hose and light. PM me if interested in selling.

I have a Turbo-Filter. It is complete. Have not used it in five years. I do not have the original case they system was packed in. I do have a case for the system. Can send images, if you send me an e-mail address

Does not work well in situations with high ambient light BTW.
