This is for a Nikkor 500mm reflex.
I lost the original ones that are for the rear element.
Have a yellow, need IR, Orange and 25Red.
Thanks,
Gaston

Thank you Mr. Hazelton; Went to the site and there is n 88 and no step-up or down ring for it either.
It is, apparently, a royal screw up on Nikon's part. No 88's are made except in the old Soviet Empire. Since they, Nikon, provided four 39mm special filters for the rear, they must have figured no other filter was necessary.
I did get a Yellow from Rusia a while back.

Sorry. And I suppose that the 39mm "special" filters are made of Unobtainium, as are the ones for my Vitessa L. "Since they, Nikon, provided four 39mm special filters for the rear, they must have figured no other filter was necessary." Ummm...Something to protect the front element is a good idea. I wish you luck!

Just a passing thought: I have a Tokina 500mm f8 mirror lens, T mount which has a few ND filters which can be mounted to the rear. IIRC the lens has a clear filter which must be used to assure the best performance. Might something similar be possible with your Nikkor reflex? You might send Tim Rice of filterfind an email with outlining your problem.

The rear filters provided were a Yellow,Red,UV and 0.3ND.
They are 39mm but no 39mm fits!!
On the front its 88mm.
I need the IR 10 stop filter for the next solar eclipse(If I am still kicking in '24) BUT, in the rear the filter will be getting the concentrated rays of the Sun after the lens magnification and that can be disastrous!
I did get a solar filter that goes over the barrel on the front but it is cumbersome to use.
Do not worry, I will survive!
Thanks

Somehow I'd guess that a powerful ND on the front element would be desirable, as you suggest. Perhaps a visit to an amateur astronomers site?

Well, your guy came through with a couple of Russians, so at least we are making some progress.

Gaston,

What is the lens?
I may have some adapters that I could set up for you but I need to know what filters you want?

I have 2 Russian 88mm shown here.

thanks,
Tim

Dear Sir:
I have a lens that takes an 88mm filter and am having a hell of a time finding filters for it.
Is there a step up or down ring made for 88mm?
Do you know anyone that makes them to order?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
