Rob,

I have three boxes of fresh Ilford film for you when you find the holders. I had a hard time sell five of those holders here a few months back. I really took a lose on them.

Check Pacific Rim.

Steve

Thanks Steve.
Pacific Rim had many but none with the slots.
I'll get back to you about the film when I get some holders.
Is the ilford film actual 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 or cut down?

Rob

It is actual 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Ilford film that was a custom order from Ilford.

If you get to read this in time there is a listing on eBay for 4 of them ending in about 30 mins.
The listing says they have slots; but it difficult to see in the picture.
I have no affiliation with the listing.

Good luck.

I missed it, but appreciate the heads up.

Keep looking; they do turn up.
I found a few at Pacific Rim then a few more on eBay.

Rob,

What do you mean by side slots? I have two holders but I am not sure what you mean by "side slots".

Jose,
Older graflex cameras, like the RB slr that I have, have a different back than one you see on newer cameras (international, spring, graflock). With the older graflex back, the film holder itself is locked into the camera back. Here's a link to a picture of a camera like mine. You can see the slotted film holder at the bottom of the picture (slot sunning down the side of the film holder):

Jamie,
I was able to pick one up there.
Thanks for your help!

Would still be interested in a few more if anyone else has some.

Rob

Rob,

From the photo in the link, I have the newer type of film holder. They are Fidelity brand. I have not seen the type with the slot and I have some real old film holders. Good luck finding some more.

Ok, this might require some effort on your part, but should be worth it.

There is a booth at this antique mall -> http://www.rivermarketantiquemall.com/ with tons of vintage graflex stuff, and many, many other old photo things as well. I can almost guarantee he has a stash of holders in this size... 95% sure of it. I know I've seen little film holders about that size.

Anyways, I don't remember the booth number exactly, but I believe the owner is named Terry. Either way, mention that you are looking for the "camera booth" owner and there will be no question as to who you're referring to. They'll give you a number to reach him at, or they'll have him call you. He's a nice guy, though not incredibly knowledgable about his gear. However, he should have no trouble finding what you need.

If he's not wiling to ship them, I go there enough that I'd be willing to pick them up for you. However, I live about 30 minutes away and so I couldn't do it immediately.

PM me if you need any more details. Good luck!

Thanks for the lead!
I'll give it a try and see what I come up with.

Great, let me know what you find. I can see them in my mind right now... they're there!

I reached out to the antique mall people and they got me his number but noted it was his work number for his other job. They also noted that he doesn't do email. I felt odd calling him at that number and while pondering what to do was contacted by another APUG member who had what I wanted (got 4 more). So, I'm good for now, but really appreciate your help.

Rob

No worries. I'm glad you at least gave it a shot, and if you need more now you know where to start. Cheers!
